Enjoy the Astroglide Slide
I was very pleasantly surprised by the performance of this lube. Out of the bottle it's really thin and runny, which can cause drips and mess if you're not careful. It lasts a long time and feels pretty natural.
Published:
Pros
Glycerin and paraben free, long lasting, easily washes off, and doesn't stain
Cons
Slight chemical-like smell, nasty bitter taste, thin consistency, and messy
Experience
I wasn't sure if I would like this lube or not because it's so thin. I really prefer a thicker, gel-like consistency; but, performance-wise, I really can't fault it. It lasts longer than a lot of water-based lubes I've tried in the past, doesn't irritate my skin, and is easy to clean up afterward. I would give it 5 stars if it didn't have such an awful bitter taste and if it was a thicker consistency and less drippy.
Follow-up commentary
2 months after original review
Well, I must admit I was surprised at how long my little bottle of Astroglide green cap has lasted. I honestly thought it would be gone in no time, but I still have a wee bit left. I'm still not all that keen on the consistency. This lube is thin, runny, and tends to go all over. But it's slick, lasts a long time for a water-based lube, and is compatible with my body chemistry. I didn't experience any kind of reaction or irritation with it, and that's a big point in its favor. Plus, it's available at my local drugstore, so it's a great fall-back lube for me. So while it's not my favorite, I'm glad to know it's out there and works well.
