This lubricant is not anything special. It causes more problems than it does help. It isn't the worst, but I would never buy this if something else was available even if I had never tried the other choices. With that said...unless you want a slip and slide desensitized vagina...skip on this one!

Pros
No smell or taste, can help desert dry vaginas
Cons
TOO slick, reduces sensation, runny, gets everywhere, LOUD
This lubricant is best used for toys when you are not looking for anything to wow you. A quick dab will do ya with this lubricant. Unless your southern parts are like a desert, all you will feel is drenched, uncomfortable, and just plain mediocre all around. Not a good choice for sex of any kind in my opinion. Keep this one for the toys. This however is supposed to be a moisturizer for vaginal dryness. With it's consistency, it would be good for maintaining a natural PH balance and would not be uncomfortable to use as a cosmetology agent.
The problem with Astroglide is that it is SUPER thin, not much thicker than milk. It is super runny and is definitely slick. Since this lube is so runny, it hard to stay in the areas you want, especially when just applied. It also absorbs easier in smaller quantities so you have no choice to use a lot in order to feel a difference. It turns your vagina into a slip and slide! But a good thing is that it isn't grainy or inconsistent. You won't have any problem getting this out of the bottle.
The lubricant can get sticky after awhile, but not greasy. It seems to get sticky when you don't use a generous amount, but using a generous amount posses it's own problems, which you will read about in the performance section.
The slip and slide effect isn't good. You think it would be but it actually makes it so that you can't feel much of anything. It adds nothing to the experience and actually makes it worse. Not only can you not feel as much, but it is super loud! It makes a gross and embarrassing squishy sound with every connected movement. It also makes it too easy for my partner to fall out...and he is NOT a small member-ed guy. The lubricant does wash off easy though and cleans up well, but there is a lot of cleanup since it goes EVERYWHERE.
My guy even hated it, he doe not often have strong opinions about things I review unless I ask him. He spoke up as soon as we finished. He said the sound was distracting and that he thought it was a horrible lubricant. I had to agree. I tossed the rest of the product.
however, like I said in my introduction, I do think this would be a good moisturizer like the label says. Since it does not feel greasy it naturally mixes with your own juices and wouldn't be uncomfortable. If I were to review this product based on that alone, I would give it a better review.
I am giving this 2 stars. I have had many better experiences with lubes, but this is not the worst. At least it didn't smell or make things painful. I would choose a different option though. This does not do wonders for a sexual experience.
Follow-up commentaryI still like it2 months after original review
We ended up throwing out the rest of the Astroglide that I had. It didn't work well during sex. It didn't work well at ALL for anal. And it didn't work well for toys. I wish I had never gotten it. PLEASE so not buy this when you see it in your general retailer, it is a waste of money.

We used to like the Astroglide Gel, it was much thicker than the watery stuff in the bottle. But, it has glycerin in it, and that's not good for my nether regions, so the tube sits barely used in a drawer. I used to like the Green Cap, glycerin Free Astroglide, but since have found much better lubes as I try more of them.
I think it's so popular, not only because it's easily available, but because it shed the boring, clinical image that KY Gelee has. Doctors still suggest to women to try KY, mostly because it's what they know (and use for exams, uck!) but the "Cool Doctors" are now suggesting Astroglide. Perhaps we can get them some samples of Sliquid H2O Ride or one of the better ones.
Still like the Astroglide Anal Shooters, though. They have an amazing texture, perfect for anal sex, that isn't drying, like Green Cap can be. But, it also contains glycerin, so we're mostly using Sliquid H2O Ride now.
Interesting what we learn as we experiment.

I have not tried either of those yet. I agree with why it is so popular. It is one of few that are available in stores. I love Ky actually lol.
Excellent info! Thank you

nice review... not sure how it got a vibration rating though... haha

It has a noise rating, not a vibration rating. Due to the noise it makes...

Great review. I think Astroglide might have been the first lube I ever tried, but I really didn't like it then, either.

I agree. This lube is not the best in the world. Personally I prefer Toko and others.
