Amazing Wonder-Lube
Astroglide is an excellent universal lube that can open doors (both front and back!) for those who struggle with pain during intercourse.

Pros
Universal, cheap, decreases pain during sex.
Cons
May decrease sensitivity for some.
I discovered Astroglide in my mother's bathroom in the earlier days of my masturbation career. As an adult, I have a lot of issues with pain during intercourse and I have trouble fitting toys inside me that are more than 1" in diameter. However, on that fateful day I was able to insert 5 fingers (a feat that I am unable to accomplish without Astroglide, even as an adult). This stuff is just amazing. I could probably use it to push a watermelon down a sink drain!
Another reviewer mentioned a loss of sensitivity with Astroglide, which can certainly be an issue. However, if you suffer from pain during intercourse, or are recovering from vaginismus or previous trauma, Astroglide is a gift from heaven! It takes away painful sensitivity, but it does not have numbing ingredients which can allow you to become injured without feeling it.
Astroglide has more of a liquid consistency, which can surprise someone who is used to the more gelatinous consistency of KY jelly. You cannot "apply" it to a finger or toy, you have to cup your hands as you are pouring it out. It is a bit runny and messy, but the sex will be so amazing that you probably will not care!
Astroglide also lasts a long time, which is really nice. It does become a bit sticky when it dries up, but I think many lubes do. It has a slight sweet taste, which I do not mind. It does not overpower a person's natural "flavors" if you choose to have oral sex afterward without a barrier.
It can be used for practically anything (even a Slip'N'Slide in the backyard), and since it is water-based and will not hurt condoms or silicone toys. As far as I'm concerned, every home should have a bottle of Astroglide!

Follow-up commentary
3 months after original review
Astroglide is still one of my favorite lubes. I have found other lubes taste better during oral sex (Astroglide is insipidly sweet yet slightly bitter). However, Astroglide is still my favorite for penetration.
