A More Stimulating Sliquid

I really wanted to like this lubricant more, since I do enjoy temperature play. I'm very fond of other Sliquid products, but this just didn't work that well for me. If you like your lubricants with menthol and are looking for something with great ingredients, Sliquid Organics Sensation is the way to go. Just keep in mind it is more cooling than warming. It's certainly not a bad product, just not my favorite.

Use

Eden and other sites list this as "Sliquid Organics Warming", but my bottle says "Sliquid Organics Sensation", which is a better name for this product since in my experience, it tends to become both hot and cold. If you like menthol in your lubricants, you need look no further. It has the same great formula of other Sliquids like Silk and Naturals with added menthol. While it made my skin hot at first, I found it overall more cooling than anything else. I haven't used it for oral since my boyfriend didn't care for the feeling, but I think it is sweet and minty enough to work well for that, if you don't use too much. The sensation put me off, but it did function well as a lubricant for both solo and partnered play.

My bottle lists the ingredients as follows:

Vegan Ingredients:
Purified Water
Plant Cellulose (from Cotton)
Aloe Barbadensis*
Natural Tocopherols (Vitamin E)
Cyamopsis (Guar Conditioners)
Extracts of Hibiscus*, Flax*, Green Tea*, and Sunflower Seed*
Menthol
Potassium Sorbate
Citric Acid (Citrus Fruits)

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This is similar in feel to Sliquid Silk or Naturals, and is neither very runny nor very thick. I think it is very similar to natural lubrication. It is slick with a little bit of cushion, and absorbs into the skin without stickiness or residue. It generally stays where you put it, and only gets sticky if it is layered very thick and allowed to dry. I really love how this feels in use, although the menthol isn't my favorite.

The below picture shows how much the lubricant drips after about 15 seconds. As you can see, it moves a little but not a lot.

Taste / Aroma

Sliquid Organics Warming has a somewhat sweet and minty flavor, but it is quite subtle. It does smell of mint, but is not particularly aromatic. I have to lift it right to my nose to really smell it, and I have a fairly sensitive nose. The smell is not distracting or offensive. When it dries, I can't smell it at all.

    • Light taste

Performance

This lasts about as long as other Sliquid Organics I've tried, and is probably most similar to Sliquid Organics Natural. Being water-based, it does tend to dry out and I did need to reapply as it absorbs quite readily into the skin. Having to stop and reapply is certainly a pain, but I find that this is a problem with most water-based lubes. I don't think this dried out much faster than others, but it didn't last longer, either. It does not leave much of a residue and if anything I think my skin feels softer and more supple after use.
    • Dries up too fast
    • Feels natural
    • Reapply often

Packaging

The label reads "natural stimulating lubricant" on the front, so while at a glance this looks like a moisturizer or travel shampoo because of its spa-like dark bottle and curving font, anyone looking closer will be able to know that this has another purpose. Visually it is much less obvious than a bottle of Astroglide or KY on your nightstand, but anyone particularly curious and literate will not have much left to the imagination. Aside from the ingredients that I've listed above, the bottle details Sliquid's mission of providing quality lubricants designed for and by women. Sliquid Organics Sensation is described on the bottle as "designed to heighten sensitivity and provide a deep pleasurable sensation during use." The bottle has a wedge-style top, and is fairly easy to dispense, although a flip-top or pump would make it easier to use one-handed-- if you need to reapply, sometimes all you've got is one free hand.

Special Features

Sliquid calls this a "stimulating" lubricant, rather than a warming one like it is advertised. Stimulating is a better way of describing it, as for me at least it felt warm at first (like a bit of a menthol-burn, really) and then cooling/cold after a few seconds. The cooling sensation can be increased if air is fanned over the area. I did not experience any significant tingles. Menthol is also an analgesic, and is sometimes used to help relieve muscle pains and other body aches, so this product might function well in massage also, although that's just my speculation.

Personal comments

I am very sensitive and prone to UTIs and other problems. While I did not get an infection or lasting irritation from this product, I felt nervous about using it consistently. Menthol can be an irritant for some, so I would suggest testing this externally before trying it internally. It can make for spicier foreplay! I think it could also be an excellent way of teasing a restrained partner, if you're into that.

Experience

I used this with my boyfriend only once. I felt a bit warmer than usual the first time around, but more in an irritated way than a pleasurable one. My boyfriend didn't notice any difference until we were done, and then he commented that it "felt really weird". Not exactly what I was hoping to hear. Once he pulled out, I felt very cold instead of warm. Since then, we haven't reached for it, so unfortunately my opinions are reduced to solo play and that one time. I've tried to incorporate it into my solo activities, but it hasn't been much better then, either. The consistency is great, but I don't find the stimulation to be all that pleasant internally. The slight burning sensation it gives off at first makes me uncomfortable using it in anything but special-occasion situations. It's not bad as a stimulant when used externally like over the clitoris or vulva, but I don't find myself craving the sensation often. It's been reduced to the last-resort/extreme boredom section of my toy drawer.

Shame that this didn't work for you, but it's nice to hear that at least it doesn't cause any infections. Thanks for the review!

I really don't think it would cause an infection, but since I'm prone to them it made me nervous. I think it would be awesome for less sensitive people who are looking for a lube that's a little different.
