What's that sexy thing at the foot of my bed?
This box is amazing. It's well worth the price. There is plenty of space to store toys of all shapes and sizes, books, DVDs, restraints, costumes, lubes, lotions... really anything you want to keep tucked away in a safe spot away from prying eyes. Great if you have nosy pets!

Pros
Large, Secure latch and lock, Very nice to look at, Sturdy.
Cons
Not enough pockets for little things.
The Devine Playchest has rocked my world... in the best way possible! I started hunting around for a suitable toy storage case shortly after ordering some very expensive, quite large toys. The little metal case that was storing my toys at the time was pitifully small and would never hold the new toys. And I have a ferret who just loves to chew on squishy things, and she's developed quite the taste for my vibrators. I was not going to let these new toys fall prey to her teeth, so I needed something not only big, but that had a good latch and/or lock on it.
I searched and searched, but I couldn't find a box large enough to fit the toys I was expecting (one of them is quite long and has a very large base, making it difficult to lie down across the bottom of a box.) Not all of them, anyway. Then I finally stumbled across the Devine Playchest. It was perfect. The dimensions showed it would be big enough not only to fit the most awkwardly-shaped of the toys, but that it could hold all of my toys together in one place. I had to have it.
Price-wise, it was comparable to other toy boxes I looked at, even though it was considerably larger.
The biggest selling feature of the Devine Playchest, I feel, is the amount of space inside. The lids have little mesh pockets with elasticized openings for storing little things. There is also a divider for the bottom portion that's fully adjustable along the velcro strips on the short ends of the box (or you can take it right out.) There's another small mesh pocket and two elastic loops on one side of the divider, but that's it for storing and organizing little things. There simply isn't space to keep the little things tidy in the Playchest.
But oh my, does this thing ever house toys well. If I throw all my toys in a jumble, they barely fit, but if I take a minute to organize them, I could easily fit another couple of toys in there.
The latch on this baby is amazing. I bought it because it has a lock (the key to which hangs on a bead chain attached to one of the handles, so it's always handy) fully intending to lock it to keep my ferret out. But the latch itself is complicated enough that she can't figure it out. The only thing that's annoying about the latch is trying to fumble it open in the middle of the night when I'm half asleep and horny. Not so easy. And the latch does make a bit of noise-- if you have a nosy roommate they might start to ask (my ferret now knows the sound of the latch and will come running up from the basement to investigate.)
If anything does spill inside the Devine Playchest, clean it up as quickly as possible. It's lined with a black satin-type material, but liquids can soak through. The chest is made of some kind of board, which I doubt would take water damage very well. I had a bottle of lube get knocked open and leak all over the inside. A soft, damn cloth wiped up the mess really well, and I haven't noticed any staining.
When it comes to appearances, it looks like a large makeup case. I leave mine sitting at the foot of my bed. It's very pretty (very girly, though.) If you have a roommate, they would never guess it holds sexy goodies until you pop it open. Because it locks, and the key is removable, you can leave it behind secure in the knowledge that no one's going to be rifling through your stuff. Unless your roommate knows how to pick locks... but then I think you might have other issues on your hands.
The Playchest is quite well made. Like I said earlier, it's made of some kind of board, and it's covered in pleather and lined with a satin-like material. This makes it fairly lightweight, but it's still very strong (mine holds about ten pounds of silicone without bowing.) The pleather has withstood ferret nails, as my little one often comes up to sniff the edges of the lids and dig at it in an attempt to get at the goodies inside. The handles at the top are nice for carrying the chest around. I hesitate to say it's travel-friendly. I do sometimes carry it around to different rooms in the house... namely the bathroom. I can carry all my lubes and toys together in the box with one hand, and my towel in the other. No more awkwardly juggling handfuls of things back and forth. Yay!
