Old school style for naughty uses!
It's not as secure as other cases but it's big and very pretty, sturdy and well constructed. Most people would be able to fit their entire sex toy collection in it; but it's versatile enough to be used for vanilla purposes without a second thought.

Pros
Very roomy & sturdy, and pretty!
Cons
Lock & key are simple/cheap for the cost of the case.

The Devine Playchest is really pretty, that was my first draw to it. The old fashioned styling, the croc-patent-leather, etc. It's a decidedly Femme case and not at all something that everyone is going to love. This is far and away the largest case Devine has made, and in my opinion the most useful for me personally. It's a sturdy case, every bit of it is hard surfaced and nothing like the Satchel.
When I received it, it just arrived to me in a shipping box so there really wasn't any packaging to speak of. When I first opened it there was a very strong odor that smelled to me like latex paint. It dissipated after a few days.
It's big, but even on its own is not lightweight. So if you fill it up with toys, expect the entire thing to be heavy like whoa. When I filled it up for taking photos and seeing what all I can get in it, I then tried to lift it and nearly couldn't. Bear in mind though that I'm a wimp ;)
The divider that goes lengthwise down the middle of the main compartment is stiff and is held in place by Velcro on the ends. It's in there securely though. On the divider is a small mesh pouch, perhaps for batteries or condoms. Also on the same side is an elastic band, probably to hold up a few bottles of lube/massage oil. On the underside of each lid are two other mesh pouches to hold either small toys or maybe toy accessories.
Its vinyl/patent leather so it's got a shiny look and the typical "stickiness" that comes when two pieces of that material rub together. The pink flap that goes over the two halves of the lid is also the same material so in a humid environment they're really going to stick together.
The way it closes is a piece of material goes underneath the handles and locks on one side, it's similar to old fashioned luggage. However, it's not very sturdy with the lock or key. I took photos for my blog post (link down below) to show that the "key" has already bent. It's little more than sticking a prong into two slots to enable it to turn. You could open it with a bobby pin if need be. They put the keys on a chain with a little bit of vinyl covering, like a sleeve, but it wouldn't food anybody - you're going to know the key is in there. This isn't a secure method of storage, it's more of a pretty transportation method of storage. If you have daughters, forget about it. They'll be dying to get in it and use it. However it's also vanilla enough that you could use this as a train case.

Experience
You can fit a lot in this case! Of course the downfall to that, as I mentioned before, is that it can get heavy. I fit all my biggest toys in there with room at the top to spare. The Hitachi lays down easily with a little room to spare.
Honestly I find this case very useful, and easy to blend in with everyday life if I wanted to use it as a train case (which I think I will). I don't understand why it's Limited Edition, or what exactly that means, because the reply from Devine on our forums has been vague. I hope though that they consider making something similar again, because until this case they didn't really make anything big enough to compete with the larger FYN cases in terms of travel.
I took a bunch of photos of the Playchest both empty and full and talked a little bit about my thoughts on it vs FYN, over at my blog, you can read about it here.

Follow-up commentary

There should be a button for "I still like it, but I'm not as enamored with it anymore". The "stickiness" of the vinyl bugs me, and the heaviness of the case when empty is giving me some problems when I load it up. I'd actually purchased this with the intent of using it for travel but I think it's just too big and bulky for travel.

in reply to your post regarding your question of "limited edition":
The Devine Playchest is a specialized case for which we made an executive decision to only put a small number of these exclusive items on the market. We hope this answers your query regarding our motivation behind limited edition.
Limited Edition (definition) :: a fixed number of impressions; an edition that is restricted to a specific number of copies.
