We decided to try out this toy as an alternative to metal handcuffs, since we found that the cuffs easily left marks even with a furry covering.

After some experimentation, we were pleased to find that the Bondage Bar can serve the same functions as handcuffs with much more versatility, and did not leave any marks on the skin even after a fair amount of struggling.

Like many other Sportsheets products, the Bondage Bar is made out of sturdy black neoprene. Because of this, the bar has a somewhat utilitarian look to it: it could possibly be mistaken as some sort of workout or therapy device - it doesn't look overly sexy or kinky at all. Maybe if it had satin or fur lining, or was made out of leather, this toy would be a little more fun looking.

However, its appearance may be a trade-off for the durability of the product. The velcro securing the straps is very secure, and the central bar is strong enough that my partner could safely pick me up by the bar when I was strapped into it.

We had a lot of fun experimenting with this toy and all the different positions you can use. You can use it standing up and bent over, lying on your back with knees against your chest, doggy-style, or you can even loop the velcro around a bedpost similar to handcuffs. The fun is in keeping you immobilized and at the mercy of your partner. The great thing about this toy is that there's no delay in having to struggle with set-up, as you might experience with other restraints. It's also easy to remove and toss to the side once you're done with it.

I found that the loops fit well around my small wrists and ankles, and fit equally well on my partner's larger wrists and ankles, so the Bondage Bar can probably fit everyone. We found that you can also use this toy as thigh restraints as well, which adds to its versatility.
