The design could be better, in my opinion. The head is not flexible; I would like to be able to have the head at an angle, that way I can hold it a little more comfortably. Being so large an item, it was a bit interesting to get it in the right position. Once there, it is hard to maintain because of how large it is, and again, the handle is straight. The Hitachi has one function - to vibrate. There are two speeds - high and low. There is a big difference between high and low. However, a first time user would be scared even on low. It's very high powered, and on your first few uses low may seem high. Once the Hitachi has been used a few times and my body was used to it, the high function was a new introduction. The switch to turn the product to low/high and off is on the handle. Depending on where you hold it, you could accidentally knock it into a different setting or turn it off, which is a bit inconvenient in the moment. You learn where to hold it after that.
