Warming for the heart~
Looking for an inexpensive, reusable body warmer? This one is the one for you! It's easy to activate and only takes minutes to get ready.
Published:
Pros
Temperature-play, Reusable, Easy to clean/use, Travel-friendly, Inexpensive, Easy to activate
Cons
Kinda sharp edges, Stays heated for a little over a half hour
Use:
Pipedream came up with this nifty little warmer and I've got to say, my partner and I love it! It's perfect to use if you have a sore or pulled muscle. Even with period cramps it helps soothe the pain away in a matter of seconds! I mostly use it with my back pains since back problems run in my family and I'm in the nursing field, so us nurses have to have a properly functioning back and not a crippled one. The heart warmer is a re-usable chemical warming pack, meant to ease your body's aches and pains away.
Material:
The heart is made out of PVC, but don't let that turn you away. Yes, it rates low on the safety scale here on Eden, but you've got to remember, it's not made for your genitals or for insertion. The PVC is however quite smooth other than the edges; those are a little sharp, but not enough to cause you displeasure.
There is a slight smell to it, but after a while it does go away. The smell wasn't too awful or displeasing. Really, it was barley noticeable for us.
Design & Performance:
I do, on the other hand, wish it was a bit bigger. It's not too big, but it's not too small either. We hope to buy more once they come into stock again and maybe use them all as a small hot stone effect you'd get done in a spa. The Heart Warmer is about 5" across and 5" high. At 9 oz, it's great to carry around in your purse or a suitcase, so it is very travel friendly.
Packaging:
The packaging for this was rather simple. You could recycle it or even use it to store the warmer in while it's not in use. On the front it shows you a picture of the warmer and gives you a few details about it. On the back it explains how to use and how to properly go about to getting it set up for use without ruining it in the process.
Preparing:
I first grab a hand towel to wrap it in, as it was mentioned on the box, and then get a nice pot of water to boil.
Once it's boiling I place the heart warmer, wrapped in a towel, into the water gently. I then let it boil for the full five minutes; any less and it won't reverse all the way.
I usually check it about half way through to see how it's coming. Once it's finished you could continue to use it as a massager as it's nice and warm from being boiled. Don't place it directly on the skin for longer than a few seconds until it cools down enough to allow it to not burn you. It'll last about 30 minutes and after its cooled down all the way you can snap the little disc back and forth a time or two to activate the gel inside to heat back up and stiffen.

Follow-up commentary
5 months after original review
This is still my favorite go to warmer. Whenever I have a tough day at school or work I come home and this is the first thing I use to help ease the pain and tension in my back. I wish it warmed up quicker, but otherwise everything about it is grade-A in my book.
