The Flickering Touch massage candle has a smooth wax, that feels amazing on the skin. It is strongly scented with a nice crisp scent and beautifully packaged. This would make an amazing gift. It did leave a waxy residue on my skin but this wont deter me from purchasing this candle again.

Smooth, Smells Amazing, Great sensual way to lead to sex
The Flickering Touch massage candle made by Lelo, is best used for a sensual message. It can be lit and used to create a romantic environment with the light flicker from the candle. Light it and about 30 minutes later the wax can be dripped onto your partner and rubbed in for an amazing massage. This candle is great to stimulate you and your partners senses by stimulating the skin with temperature play. The Flickering Touch will work for anyone wanting to give or receive a massage with the added aromatherapy effect. This is a very strongly scented candle, so if you are allergic to or bothered by scents I would stay clear of this candle.
The Flickering Touch Candle melts into a smooth waxy massage oil. It will very quickly turn back into a soft wax while doing the massage. It is easy to pour out of the glass jar that it comes in, but will only stay burning evenly if it is burnt for about 30 minutes prior to using. I thought that since this is a candle, the massage oil would be extremely hot as it melted. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it is warm, but not at all hot. This will not burn you in anyway. It is very smooth on the skin when being rubbed in, but it does leave a greasy residue on the skin afterward. This is easily removed by a towel or shower.
I would not suggest tasting the Flickering Touch massage candle. I tried it and it tastes horrible. The taste that you get from it is a waxy perfume taste... not ideal for tasting. I got the snow pear and cedar wood candle, and it smells amazing. It has a crisp scent to it and it reminds me of rain on a spring day. The scent reminds me of a bath and body works type of scent. It is strong and it lingers nicely on your skin.
This wax lasts for a good amount of time. I did a half hour massage with it and believe that it could have probably gone a bit longer than that. The scent lingers on your skin for quite a while. In the morning my husband could still smell the snow pear and cedar wood on his skin, but its' a very nice scent so this wasn't a bad thing. The wax absorbs nicely into the skin leaving it so soft, but it does leave a waxy residue on the skin. Your skin remains soft though after removing the residue. I love how that even though this candle is lit, the wax/oil isn't hot and I didn't need to worry about it burning me. It was warm and comforting. I burnt the candle for about an hour or so before I used it, to make sure that it was going to burn evenly. It seemed to burn down quite a bit in that time, leading me to believe that if this was left burning it won't last very long.
The Lelo Flickering Touch massage candle comes nicely packaged in a black box accented with whatever color the ring is on the top of your candle. This box would make this candle great for gift giving. The candle is packaged in a black glass jar with a silver lid that has a colored ring on it. It is great for sliding your finger into the ring to remove the lid. It also includes a foam pad inside of the candle, which is good to use to distribute the oil if you are uncomfortable directly applying to the skin.
This candle is great for aromatherapy use. The snow pear and cedar wood scent is very relaxing. While my husband was working the oil into my skin, I could feel my whole body relaxing just by the amazing scent it was letting off.
I am always asking for my husband to use this candle and give me a massage. It smells amazing, leaves your skin soft, and is a great to lead up to sex. Your significant other or partner can fully enjoy your body while stimulating your buttocks, inner thighs and breasts while rubbing in the massage oil. I wouldn't suggest using this as any type of lubricant, especially if you are easily irritated.
We poured the Flickering Touch wax directly onto the skin. It isn't hot enough to burn you, and it's great for light temperature play. I am so glad that I purchased this candle after using it. I will be buying more. It also lightly scented our bedroom which was a really nice surprise.
Follow-up commentaryI still like it9 months after original review
The Lelo Flickering Touch candle is still a favorite in my house. We do use another massage candle more than this one, but this one is nice when we run out of the others. I love the scent, I just wish it didn't leave as much residue on the skin.

You can also reuse the glass jar... it has a metal lid with a cute little ring on the top... so you could keep anything small in it... maybe bullet vibes or batteries, I love things that I can reuse after they have served their purpose

Good review.
It is a lovely candle. We have the same one.
Although soy wax burns at a much lower temperature than paraffin or even bees wax candles, you still always need to remember to NEVER use candle wax on the skin while the candle is still burning and ALWAYS test the temperature of the melted wax with your finger before pouring onto the skin. Burns actually can happen, due to certain variations.

Sorry about the slip up... we actually applied this directly to the skin... I tested it on my finger before dripping on skin.

I'm bummed about the waxy residue. It's really not hot to walk around feeling like a crayon
