This won't give you the blues!

I don't like to hand wash, but occasionally it would be worth using this Dona blue lotus just for the pleasant scent it leaves behind. Be careful not to use too much, or you will be rinsing the suds out for a very long time!

As you may have guessed, I ordered the Dona lingerie wash in blue lotus. The soft plastic bottle has a blue label on it but the product is a pretty thick, yellowish, translucent liquid. It is much thicker than regular washing machine liquid soap.

The product is used to clean delicate lingerie, leaving it fresh and nicely scented when pulled out for use next time. The very clear directions tell you to use a half a cup of the soap to a gallon of water, but as other reviewers have said, that is way too much. I recommend that you use a tablespoon or two, but no more, per vessel for one large, or two small, items. Swish, swish, swish and rinse, rinse, rinse (and maybe rinse some more--you want to get all the soap and dirt out of the lingerie and into the rinse water). Rinse and change to clear water as often as necessary until you are satisfied that the product is gone.

Drying can be a problem, but to our benefit, lingerie is usually a very lightweight material. I lay at least two very thick terry towels on top of the dryer, gently lay out the item that was washed (being careful not to have any wrinkles (as much as that is possible with some of the items) and then I place another thick terry towel on top. I gently press the top towel to absorb water, then I turn the top towel over on repeat this process. When I am done, the item is still damp so I remove the top towel on the bottom and place the item on the bottom towel, which should be dry or damp. Leave it overnight and it should dry naturally.

While I liked the scent in the bottle and also the very mild scent it left on the dry lingerie, let's face it, the vast majority of my lingerie goes into a washing bag or pillow case and gets tossed in a non-bleach load Hand washing some of my longer items would just be too difficult. I do wash most in the machine and let it spin. It usually comes out dry enough that I can hang it on a non-wire hanger (rust) and hang it on the shower rod. Hand washing the item, even with my press/dry method, leaves the item too wet and heavy to hang immediately.

I would recommend this to those of you who want to fuss over your lingerie, bras and panties. I just don't have the time or desire to do so. If you do, this is an excellent choice.

Considering that I have to order in my lingerie from overseas if I want to pay less than $150 a bra, I'm definitely one of those people who has to fuss over it. This sounds like it would actually work quite well for me - thanks!
