The Process Of Cleaning Your Toys Has Evolved
Isn't it about time you tried a cleanser that is specially formulated to be used on your toys, and pH balanced for your nether-bits? I thought so. And from a brand you already trust, Evolved has a good option now in The Advanced Smart Cleaner that can be used on any toy you own.

USE
If you’ve read any amount of reviews, chances are you’ve heard mention of using a toy cleaner instead of soap and water or bleach. Well, Evolved has come up with a universal toy cleaner called The Advanced Smart Cleaner that is compatible with toys of any and every type of material. Silicone, yes. TPR, yes. Cyberskin, yes. Glass, metal, rubber? Yes, yes, yes. It also has an antimicrobial that cleanses and sanitizes, without the use of alcohol.
PERFORMANCE / INGREDIENTS
The Advanced Smart Cleaner is odorless, non-staining, and non-greasy formula that comes in a 5 ounce spray bottle. The bottle is white with a blue label, and has complete directions and an ingredient list on the back. The bottle is very discreet and not likely to draw attention by one who might come in contact with it. To use it, just remove the batteries from the toy (unless it is waterproof) and spray the mist over the toy. Use a cloth to wipe away any debris ensure the cleaner is worked into all the hard to reach areas. Then rinse thoroughly, dry, and store your toy as normal. Then repeat the process before using the toy again to ensure it has been completely disinfected.
If you’ve ever wondered why it’s important to sanitize toys before and after use, consider this: You need to clean immediately after use to remove any lube or bodily fluids that might accumulate on the surface of your toy and disinfect it to prevent microorganisms from growing on the surface. But it is also important to clean before use as well, so should your toy come in contact with bacteria during storage, or not been completely disinfected the first time, you’ll want to put the antimicrobial over it again to ensure it is germ-free before use.
The formula comes out as a thin clear-liquid that feels almost like a slick water. It does help to remove any possible surface debris, but it also easily gets into any crevices, or those ever loveable ridges that feel so good but are usually impossibly hard to clean. And the ingredients, as follows, are hypo-allergenic and non-irritating.
Triclosan- Anti-microbial that is found in everything from hand-soaps to toothpastes.
Disodium Cacoamphodiacetate- This is a synthetic surfactant produced on the basis of fatty acids derived from coconut oil.
Sodium Trideceth Sulfates- Low irritation, tear-free cleansing agent used in baby shampoos and washes.
Propylene Glycol- Humectant and emulsifier found in everything from pharmaceuticals, to cosmetics, to food.
Citric Acid- A weak organic acid found in citrus fruits that acts and a preservative and is used to balance pH.
Phenoxyethanol- Also known as "Rose Essence," a fragrance compound with antimicrobial properties that works well due to its low sensitizing factor.
Purified water- Water, that has been purified of contaminates.
(The above descriptions are only a very brief record of my findings of the ingredient information, not a full disclosure, nor were they provided/verified by the manufacturer.)
It is important to note, despite the antimicrobial properties of this cleaner, you can only consider a toy sterilized if it is made from a non-porous material such as silicone, glass, or metal. Other materials can have microscopic pores that bacteria can harbor in and continue to grow during storage. But again, simply use the cleaner immediately before using to surface sanitize your toy.
PERSONAL OPINION
I found this cleanser easy to use, and liked that it was safe for use with all material types. I feel confident using Triclosan as the main active ingredient, as it has been known in the medical community to disinfect during hand-washing, and even kill methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). My only reservation is that it doesn’t really provide anything more than a regular antimicrobial hand-washing soap does. Though the thinner liquid will penetrate nooks and crannies better, and it is pH balanced for more sensitive areas. Just a couple squirts will go a long way, so just the 5 oz will last a very long time, even for those like me, who use it rather frequently.

Follow-up commentary
8 months after original review
I like this toy cleaner. It's easy to use and I can keep it right on my bathroom counter without anyone noticing it. I use it regularly and still have half a bottle left. However, when it runs out, I will probably try the foaming version, as I think it will make it easier to ensure it is evenly applied.
