The Luminescence massager, a cool concept with an awful performance.
Altogether, the Luminescence massager was a cool concept (since it is now discontinued) but had a lot of flaws and didn't meet my expectations. I really wouldn't have recommended it.

Pros
Travel friendly, discreet, quiet.
Cons
Dull vibrations, large.
The Luminescence massager from California Exotics is basically a plastic floating and vibrating large egg-shaped massager that lights up.
The toy arrived in a clear plastic package. Nothing special and no storage, but that's perfectly fine since it's such a discreet enough toy that it can be easily hidden in a sock drawer (which is perfect since it has three little nubs that act as legs so it won't roll around) or along with your other toys. It's grey in color, except for a ring of white that acts as a seal to keep water out from getting inside.
The massager runs on two AAA batteries. Simply twist the top, pop the batteries in, and it's ready to go.
To turn the massager on, there is a simple, white button on the bottom that you're supposed to press and hold for four seconds and the lights are activated, keep it pressed for another two seconds and the vibrations begin. Sadly there is only one vibration setting and it's not that strong. It's decent enough but not for a deep massage.
There are a couple different uses for this toy other than massaging. Sadly, one of them wasn't for any sexual stimulation. The massager is quite large and odd shaped and the vibrations are dull since they aren't really pinpointed, so one really can't get off.
Instead, I would recommend you putting it in the bath or even letting it stand in the shower, turn the lights low, and just let the ambiance of the colors relax you. Or it could even be set out as a mood light in a room. No one would even suspect what it was.
The toy is easy to clean. Just simply wash with your preferred toy cleaner or a simple soap and water wash and you're done.

Follow-up commentary
2 months after original review
I know this toy is no longer sold. However, I'd just like to add that I've grown to like it a bit more. It's great for a little mood lighting, and to let it float atop the water during a bath with the lights off.
