Dolce Dreams body lotion by Principessa is fairly new to EdenFantasys' growing list of skincare products. One day I was cruising EdenFantasys and I was attracted to the pretty pink tube displayed along with the description. My mom's birthday was approaching so I decided to pick up a tube and put together a basket of treats for her. I have seen Mom and many women use various brands of moisturizing products and felt confident that this was a good choice.
This is called a whipped body lotion by Principessa, the manufacturer of Dolce Dreams. It is a lighter consistency and easier to apply than many very thick hand creams in a tube. It spreads much easier and I would explain it like this: most thick hand creams are like butter right from the refrigerator. Dolce Dreams is like butter after it sits out for an hour and softens up. A little goes much further than the thicker types.
The cream absorbs into the skin quickly and does not leave you feeling slippery or greasy. Your hands just feel nice and soft and they stay that way for several hours. Like any moisturizer, to be optimally effective you should apply this at least 2 or 3 times a day or more as your skin needs may differ from my mom's.
Dolce Dreams is from the "Bellocia" scent line of items from Principessa. It is very light, flowery and both Mom and I find it very pleasant. It lingers on your skin for a few hours or until you need to wash your hands for any reason, which Mom seems to do often. She reapplies a dab if she has to wash shortly after application. Neither of us were inclined to taste the cream and I doubt that you will be in that position since it is not to be used as a sexual lubricant of any type.
There are no phthalates, sulfates or triclosans and it is parabens free. It contains such natural products as Vitamin E (an emollient and healer), meadowform oil, shea butter and aloe vera (long used for its healing properties). It is nice to have something without lots of heavy chemicals listed in the ingredients.
For $27.99 you receive 8.5 ounces of moisturizing cream. Sure this sounds expensive, and it is, but for the spa-like experience it is very inexpensive. Go to a spa for a hand massage and treatment and you will be charged $65.00 at our local spa. On top of that you will have to buy the product they sell to keep up with the softening from the treatment.
Dolce Dreams worked great at keeping Mom's skin soft and fragrant. She likes it so much that she plans to order more because her tube is just about used up. It lasted over a month and she applied it several times daily.
The whipped lotion arrives in a pink and white box with the name and company logo on the front. The tube lists the ingredients on the back. The cap screws on and off and it is very easy to squeeze out just the amount of cream that you want to apply. This is a totally non-sexual item and it is so discreet that you can gift it to underage girls. I am sure that they would love it very much. You can comfortably travel with this product. If you plan on flying please note that it does not meet the carry on requirements and must be packed in checked luggage.
The cream has a whipped consistency that is different from most skin creams, making it feel more smooth and velvety before and during application. Also because it is softer, a smaller amount seems to do the trick when compared to thicker brands Mom has used. Go ahead and spend some cash-o-lah and enjoy a luxury spa treatment for your hands, feet and all over the body. You deserve it.
We highly recommend this to all women experiencing dry skin. It can be used on all parts of the body, although I would not use it on the face. I would purchase a separate cream made specifically for the face. This is not for men because the scent is very feminine and too flowery for most men.
This was one of many things that I wrapped and put in a basket of birthday goodies for Mom. She was surprised and overly happy with my choice. She said many, many times that she does not take the time or money to treat herself to such nice products that pamper her like the Dolce Dreams. Sure you can get less expensive stuff, but you certainly wouldn't feel as special with drugstore moisturizers.
Follow-up commentaryI still like it17 days after original review
This lotion still smells better than anything I have been around. It is ultra-feminine, light and pleasing. I was at the mall today and there is a well known bath and body shop--they had a display of their 20 scents that were all on sale. I smelled a few and they were awful--too strong and too sweet. Do you really want your woman to sell like a piece of fruit? I don't think so! Opt for Dolce Dreams--it may cost a bit, but certainly worth the enjoyment you and your parter will share!
