Suntouched candle review
The Suntouched Candle is a great introduction to the world of hot-wax play, or as a heat-penetrating sensual massage product.
Published:
Pros
Nice scent, warm oil, non-greasy, low melt-point, scoop included
Cons
Can still get quite hot
I’m a huge fan of sensual massage|Sensual massage, both giving and receiving; I find both equally relaxing. I am also a big fan of heated oil or massage cream|Massage cream - Cream by KamaSutra, and I ALWAYS like to have candles burning to provide lighting and set the mood for a relaxing massage.
On the other side of the spectrum, I also enjoy the kink of an occasional good hot-wax play!
Thus, I think massage-oil candles are a wonderful and versatile invention, and I’ve got a fair collection of brands and scents in my collection.
The Suntouched Candle|Suntouched candle - Candle by Earthly Body is not my #1 favorite variety of massage candle, but it is definitely a quality product! The wax melts at a lower temperature than traditional candle wax, so it is a great way to introduce hot wax play for those who are uninitiated and feeling some trepidation. Be warned, though, it still does get quite hot, so either brace yourself for a shock or allow it to cool a bit before use.
Fortunately, the Suntouched Candle comes with a small spoon that lets you extract the oil without having to dump it out of the lit candle, which can be quite messy and sometimes burn you. My fingers have encountered many a candle flame from candles that did not come with spoons or scoops!
The candle is also wonderful for a massage oil, though I definitely recommend allowing it to cool a bit before use. The scent is lovely and pure, not perfumey, and the wax melts into a silky oil that is absorbed nicely into the skin with little or no greasy residue. A quick rub-down with a dry towel will remove any residue you do happen to find if you need to dress quickly after the massage.
My final piece of advice would be to prepare a bit in advance to use this product, in order to give a sufficient amount of the wax time to melt. Light the candle about 20 minutes before playtime and you should be good to go!

The more I use these massage candles, the more I'm growing to love, love, love them! They provide the ambiance of a scented candle, a quality massage oil|Massage oils (with a quality candle), and the oil is already warmed! I also think they are truly ideal for hot-wax play--they get hot enough to cause some pain, but not really to cause any burns.

what is your favorite kind of message candle?
-
My favorite is actually the Shunga brand, but unfortunately they're not carried on this site. This is a good alternative, however, and is priced more affordably. I love massage candles, in general, though, and think they're an awesome invention!
