Stop Smelling Me!
Pure Instinct makes an excellent cologne for both men and women. The scent straight out of the bottle is fruity with a hint of flowers and reminds me of fruit flavored gum. After being applied, the scent will change on your body. On me, it changed to a floral scent with a hint of spiciness. On my partner, it changed to a woodsy scent. This absorbs into skin very well. The scent is pretty long lasting, too. The only con I can come up with is that this does not work well as a sexual attractant.

Pros
great scent, cute bottle, a little goes a long way, elevates mood, absorbs into skin nicely
Cons
doesn't work very well as a sexual attractant
I love to try out different fragrances, and when I found Pure Instinct, which supposedly changes scent from person to person, I decided I’d give it a try. I’m glad I did, as the scent is pretty addictive.
Pure Instinct comes packaged in a .5 ounce glass bottle. The lid has a glass wand in the bottom of it, which is used to rub on some of the cologne. The bottle is a nice deep cobalt blue with white font on it. It’s pretty simple and lists only a few small facts. This is a gender-friendly fragrance that stimulates sexual appeal. It is supposed to elevate confidence, enhance your mood, and awaken the senses. There isn’t an ingredient list available for this product anywhere. It only lists that this contains a blend of pheromones and essential oils. I have somewhat sensitive skin, and did not notice any irritation from this product.
Since this is just basically oil, it’s got the same consistency as cooking oils, like olive oil. It’s a little runny.. It does rub into skin very well and completely absorbs after a while. I noticed, just as lotion does, this absorbs much faster on very dry skin. One dip of the wand is enough Pure Instinct to rub some on my wrists and behind my ears with some left over. I’ve used this maybe 20 times now and haven’t even made much of a dent in the bottle yet. When it’s first applied, it feels pretty greasy, but as it absorbs into the skin, it starts to lose that greasy feeling. My skin is pretty shiny for a while after I have applied this.
As far as scent goes, straight out of the bottle, this smells very fruity, almost like fruit flavored gum. It’s a somewhat strong scent when first applied. Someone standing within probably 5 feet of you should smell you pretty easily. After a few minutes, the scent begins to fade. I do smell it pretty easily if I am moving around a lot, but it can’t really be smelled from too far away. The scent of this is supposed to change according to your body. On me, it fades to a more floral scent with a hint of spiciness. On my fiancé, it fades to a woodsy, pine kind of scent. After a few hours, the scent completely fades.
I don’t feel that this scent really elevates my confidence. It does make me feel a little happier and alert, though. As a sexual attractant, I don’t feel particularly attracted to or turned on by the cologne when it’s on me or my fiancé. I think it does smell pretty and I do smell it a lot, but I also do the same with my other perfumes and body sprays. I noticed he did try to smell me a little bit more than he usually does when I was wearing this. My cat also seems to like the scent, hopefully in a strictly platonic way.
There are quite a few uses for Pure Instinct. It can be applied to the body as just cologne, or it can be added to bath water to scent the entire body. It could probably be used to scent a hand-made candle. Another idea, which I read about a while ago, is to dab some onto a dryer sheet and throw it in the dryer with your clothing.
Cleaning this off is pretty simple. I am able to clean this off my skin with just warm water and hand soap. This completely gets the scent and the oil off of my skin. I have not spilled any on my bedding yet, but dabbing Dawn dish soap on the area before washing should take out any oil stains left on fabric.
Pure Instinct isn’t all terribly too discreet. It says “sex attractant” on the front. The bottle is pretty small, though, and easy to hide. I just keep mine sitting out with my other perfumes. I do not recommend this for travel, since it is a glass bottle.
While this doesn’t work very well as a sexual attractant, it is a lovely smell. It does enhance the mood a little bit. I would recommend this as a gift for just about anyone, since it can be aromatherapy cologne. For the price, this isn’t a bad product. I don’t feel disappointed in the lack of pheromone power, since I wasn’t exactly anticipating it to begin with. Every other pheromone infused product I have tried has not had any effect on me at all.

I still love this cologne, but I stopped wearing it every day. I actually got this product that I like the scent of a little more, and it's easier to apply. I do still occasionally wear Pure Instinct.

Thank you for viewing Pure instinct attract cologne – cologne discontinued review page!
It's good to know that at least this one smells nice! I hate it when I buy a product and it doesn't work and smells gross!
The comment about your kitty made me giggle
This made me laugh out loud, totally not expecting it. Great review, I'm intrigued by this product now. We sell it in the shop I work at and I never really thought much of it, but now I think I may have to pick up a bottle.
