Pretty Piede Foot Balm is meant to pamper your feet, but you can use it anywhere you want really. It's more of a lighter lotion and probably won't cut it if you need super deep moisturizing, but should work well enough for most.

Straight out of the bottle it has a different texture than one might expect. It comes out like a whipped cream, light and fluffy. It stays in place well and smooths around like a soft, silky, velvety dream. For only a few moments after application do you get the slightly greasy "after lotion" feeling, and shortly thereafter it fades to a light powdery feeling.

The product page lists the scent as Belloccia. The company describes this scent as "both extremely luxurious and intoxicatingly delicious, opening with ethereal nuances of peach and vanilla flower, cascades into middle notes of night blooming jasmine and ylang ylang and bottom notes of sandalwood and warm amber dry down to a warm, sensual finish." Belloccia is said to mean "irresistible" in Italian and to many, the scent will be hard to resist smelling over and over again.

To me, this lotion has a light, powdery scent to it. It reminds me a lot of baby powder of something similar. I don't think of babies' bottoms when I smell it, but instead I think of something clean and fresh, however your mileage may vary. The scent isn't so strong that it's going to be overwhelming, but is definitely there in a very subtle manner that lasts for quite some time.

As something to just give a light foot rub and add a fresh, pleasant scent, this works wonderfully. It even works just as wonderfully for a light lotion everywhere else on my body. Each foot took less than a pea sized amount to get a nice rub and not take forever to sink in. Each leg was closer to a dime or nickel size dollop, and I could do each arm easily with somewhere between a pea and a dime size.

As a deep moisturizer, this isn't going to do you much good. However, it will work nicely if you're feeling a little dry but not overwhelmingly so and will leave you feeling soft and smooth. Any feeling of greasiness that's commonly associated with lotioning goes away within a few minutes and is replaced with a slightly powdery feeling that's very smooth. This would be a nice addition to freshly shaven legs.

The bottle is very nice, and doesn't come across as risque in the least bit, so you can definitely leave it out without fear of people discovering it. It's got a nice 4.2 fluid ounces and a convenient flip cap that makes it nice to travel with as well. On the back in English and French it's got a little blurb about it, and the ingredients.

The ingredients are listed as aqua (water), cetyl alcohol, stearic acid, glycerin, isopropyl myristate, carthamus tinctorius (Safflower) seed oil, aloe barbadensis leaf juice*, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil*, linum usitatissimum (linseed) seed extract*, punica granatum extract*, olea europaea (olive) fruit extract*, laminaria digitata extract*, morinda citrifolia extract*, camellia sinensis leaf extract*, vaccinium myrtillus fruit/leaf extract, citrus medica limonum (lemon) fruit extract, citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) fruit extract, acer saccharum (sugar maple) extract, saccharum officinarum (sugar cane) extract, lonicera caprifolium (honeysuckle) flower extract, lonicera japonica (honeysuckle) flower extract, zinc stearate, butyrospermum parkii (shea butter), tocopheryl acetate (vitamin e), allantoin, panthenol, carbomer, tetrasodium EDTA, dimethicone, cetearyl alcohol, ceteareth-20, triethanolamine, fragrance. The * denotes organic ingredients. For the most part, unless you're allergic to one of the specific ingredients you should be fine with this stuff.

This was a surprise descriptive review and I took it because I love lotions and I love trying out lots of different ones. Overall, I do like this one. It's always nice if a lotion can do double duty and be a serious moisturizer but this one doesn't claim to be and it sinks in so nicely that I just can't find anything wrong with it. The scent is light and not overpowering, it spreads around easily and doesn't leave you feeling greasy. As something to rub into your feet each night, this really is a wonderful product.
