Sickeningly Sweet

The Body Dew silky body oil by Classic Erotica is definitely worth a try if you have hard to moisturize skin and love strong scents in your oils. Just be sure to pick the right scent for yourself or you could be stuck with something you're not happy with. Aside from the scent this body oil absorbs very nicely into your skin after a shower or bath and it won't sting or irritate sensitive skin!

Use

The Body Dew silky body oil by Classic Erotica is best used as a moisturizer after baths or showers but you can use it whenever you get dry flaky skin. It will work especially well in the cold winter months and a long lasting scent will be left behind for you to enjoy.

This body oil is available in three scents: Oh So Original, Citrus and Make Me Blush.

Ingredients: Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Isopropyl Palmitate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Copuline-alike, Copulandrone, Reconstitued Andronone, Retinyl Palmitata (Vitamin A), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), BHT, Fragrance (Parfum).

Allergen Warning: Be sure to read the ingredients list before purchasing. This oil contains Almond oil and fragrance so those sensitive to these will want to stay away from this body oil.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This body oil is a runny and somewhat lightweight liquid. It spreads easily and is a bit greasy, as is typical of oils, before it completely soaks into your skin. The spray pump on the bottle makes this easy to dispense instead of becoming messy like most other oil bottles. When applying the oil to your skin you will definitely notice the strong scent and how easily this glides along to get it right where you need it. It washes off skin very easily with some soap and water so there's no need to worry if you end up not liking the scent. Like with most oils be cautious with it around sheets and other fabrics because it could possibly stain.

Taste / Aroma

Ingesting this oil is not recommended and it would probably taste terrible if it accidentally ends up in your mouth.

This body oil has a fairly strong scent and those who cannot handle strong aromas or perfumes may want to pass on this. The scent is supposed to be Sweet Pea, Blue Violet and White Cedar. To me it smells very floral and berry-like at the same time which ends up being quite sickeningly sweet and not very enjoyable. Needless to say I will be trying a different scent in the near future to make up for this disappointment.

Performance

The moisturization this oil lends to skin will last a few hours at the maximum but the scent will only last about an hour or so and then it seems to diminish greatly until it is quite unnoticeable. It absorbs quite well into skin after spreading it around and rubbing it in but if you typically shower more than once in a day or wash your hands frequently you will need to reapply this oil to stay moisturized. During the winter you may also need to reapply every so often depending on how dried out and flaky your skin gets, especially if you shave your legs or other body parts you may want to keep hydrated.

Packaging

The Body Dew oil comes in an 8 fluid ounce plastic bottle with a pump sprayer top and clear hard plastic snap-on lid. The label is a mauve color and it tells you the scent name along with what's contained inside. The back of the bottle gives you information about the oil, the ingredients list and tells you some key points about the oil. The bottom of the bottle shows a recycling symbol so be sure to recycle it when empty.

The packaging is quite nice and discreet, considering it is just body oil, so wrapping is not necessary if gifting it to someone else. The only issue with the bottle would be its size, it is a bit on the large side for travel so think about using another container if you want to travel with some of this oil.

Special Features

This oil contains pheromones, is cruelty-free, sugar-free, parabens-free and sulfate-free. It also boasts that it is safe for all skin types but I would still spot test on sensitive skin to be sure you don't have any kind of reaction before applying it over large areas of your body.

I never noticed any significance with the pheromones and no on has said anything after applying this oil to my skin. My cats didn't even take notice of it so I doubt the pheromones do much at all.

Personal comments

I'm not really sure what it is with this scent but I almost want to gag when I smell it. I don't usually mind floral scents but maybe that combined with a berry type scent is just too much. Beyond that this oil does really well at moisturizing for a long time and I couldn't be happier with that part of it. I've since ordered the Citrus scent to see if that will work better for me. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Experience

As soon as I smelled this oil I knew I was going to be sorely disappointed. Hopefully a different scent will work out better for me.

After taking a nice warm shower I applied this oil on my freshly shaved legs and was very happy with how well it moisturized and the fact that it didn't make my skin start stinging. I have fairly sensitive skin and I usually end up with irritated and/or stinging sensations after applying lotions, etc. on my freshly shaved legs which just sucks. With this oil I didn't have that to worry about but the smell was quite horrendous so I ended up washing it off pretty quickly. It was nice to find that it washed off easily with soap and water and didn't smell like the oil anymore.

*Update*: I have since ordered the Citrus scent and have to say that I'm in love with it. It smells exactly how it sounds, citrusy and it's very pleasant. My only gripe is the scent doesn't last long enough but I love this body oil otherwise, it moisturizes very well.
Follow-up commentary
I've never been able to like the Make Me Blush scent but the Citrus is great. I don't use it too often so I still have almost the full bottle of Citrus left. The bottle does have a tendency to get a little oily on the outside but it's not as bad as pour-style oil bottles.
