Pros
Not very sticky at all, not too sweet, makes for creative foreplay.
Cons
Taste isn't too strong, applicator is flimsy.
I really enjoy licking my partner's body, so I was very excited to receive the Shunga chocolate body paint. Immediately my partner came over, and after a quick look at the ingredients, we got down to business. It is important to note that the body paint contains sucrose. This means that for those of you with delicate vaginas like mine, this should not be used in or on the vagina, or anything that will not be washed before being inserted into the vagina.
I tasted it straight out of the bottle, and while I was first worried about that weird aftertaste so many body paints have, there was none. There is not a strong taste or odor, it is just a faint hint of chocolate. This can either be a blessing for those of you who, like me, don't appreciate an over-abundance of sweetness; or a curse, because a lot of licking won't give you very much chocolate flavor.
It comes with a cute, slightly cheesy sponge applicator. While it looks kind of like an ancient calligraphy brush, it is just not that helpful for trying to draw. It isn't sturdy, does not pick up a lot of the paint, and caused my lines to be messy. If I'm going to draw on my partner's body, I'd like to be able to draw well. I will say the applicator is comfortable on the skin, offering a tickling sensation
So we experimented with other implements. Some suggestions I used were a few paint brushes, a sponge tip makeup applicator, my fingers, and for a new sensation, a small toothbrush. Please note these items should be new and clean, never used. As a paint, it is not too thick, so it doesn't show up as paint, I considered it more a glaze. It isn't too runny however, and stays where you put it. I did enjoy cleaning my artwork up with my tongue, but no amount of licking will get it all off, although it's fun to try. It wasn't as sticky as some edible body art things tend to be, but there was a bit of stickiness. You'll be hard-pressed to find a body paint or lube that contains sugar and isn't sticky, so the small amount of sticky wasn't too bad.
As a competitive couple, we did play a few games using the body paint. Some ideas along these lines are timing who can clean the other off faster, and after drawing designs on the back, who could guess what their partner drew. I would really suggest using the back as a canvas, the light touches of the applicators and the wet tickling of tongues is a fantastic sensation on the sensitive skin of the back.
