Shall I compare thee to a summer's fruit?
Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears: Eos is one of my favorite lip balms because it has a delicious taste and scent, organic ingredients, and moisturizes my lips well. The sphere-shaped container is cute and unique. The course of true love never did run smooth... But at least now my lips will!

Eos lipbalm, thou art more lovely and more temperate. Your eternal summer will not fade when you have the taste of summerfruit on your lips.
Flavor:
Let's get straight to the good stuff. You might be wondering "What is a summer fruit?" I don't blame you. It sounds pretty vague. It tastes vague too, I can't put my finger on what kind of fruit it actually is. I don't think it's supposed to be one specific fruit, it has notes that are reminiscent of different fruits. It's like a little fruity picnic on your mouth. Perhaps Eos will move into the GMO market and engineer their very own summerfruit? This flavor is slightly artificial tasting. Some people have complained about this but I actually love the taste. It's not grossly artificial like a 'cherry medicine' taste. It doesn't taste real, but it does taste right. I love the taste and can't get enough of it. The only other flavor I have tried was the Strawberry Sorbet and it was also delicious, but I prefer the Summerfruit hands down.
The Container:
One thing that clearly distinguishes Eos apart from other lip balms is the trendy appearance of the container. It is not a tube like we're used to in generic Chapstick. It comes in a spherical container with a flat bottom. You twist off the dome lid to reveal the round mound of lip balm in the center. The bottom is flat so that your lip balm doesn't roll away when you set it down. I think the packaging is some serious ingenuity and I haven't seen anything else like it on the lip balm market. I did find that after having the lip balm for a few months, tossing it in my purse on the go and hauling it around with me (because I love it so much), that some gunk and debris would lodge itself in the container's internal crevices. It did not touch or contaminate the actual lip balm, it just looked kind of icky when I opened it up. I take a sharp object and remove the gunk from the little nooks and crannies, and as they say, all's well that ends well.
Eos lip balm in the tube container that we're all familiar with is also for sale on Eden. I have included the link in the "similar products" section at the end of this review.
Performance:
Summer's lease hath all too short a date, but this organic lip balm will last you a long time. I am a neurotic chapstick wearer and sometimes I feel the need to constantly reapply, buut Eos certainly lasts longer than most chapsticks I'm used to. It leaves my lips feeling soft and moisturized. It feels rich and luxurious, not over-oily or too thin like some other brands. I prefer Eos to any other brand of chapstick at the moment.
Ingredients:
Let's break this list down into simple English instead of the Scientific English on the front page. I will save the Olde English for later.
(Olive) Oil*, Beeswax*, Coconut Oil*, Jojoba Seed Oil*, Natural Flavor, Shea Butter*, Stevia Leaf/Stem Extract*, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Sunflower Seed Oil*, Blueberry Fruit Extract*, Strawberry Fruit Extract*, Peach Fruit Extract*, Linalool. (an organic, fragrant liquid found in essential oils) *
Certified Organic by Oregon Tilth.
Ah ok. This solves part of the "What does summer fruit taste like?" Mystery. It is definitely a mix of peach, blueberry, strawberry, and a few other flavors that are natural but not specifically mentioned. Yes, there is real fruit extract in Eos. It is sweetened with stevia and although I decided that I don't like stevia in my coffee, it does not bother me a bit in my lip balm. Consider it a little low-calorie treat. This lip balm is also free of any artificial dyes; good news for those like myself who have sensitivities or allergies to them. The ingredients are organic and not at all sketchy, unlike a few lip products I own with chemical preservatives like BHT or parabens in them. I am an organic lip balm junkie and I would give five stars for the ingredients alone!
Price:
To buy, or not to buy. That is the question. The price on Eden is slightly excessive for a container of chapstick, especially for those on a budget, but Eos is truly a great one and I will attempt to snag it every time it goes on sale.

This was a joy to read; I kept waiting for the next inspired phrase! " With a "fruity picnic in your mouth" and all the Shakespeare, you should be writing ad copy, you're creative & funny as heck! Thanks for not only breaking it down beautifully, but for entertaining me, as well!
