A bed of roses deluxe review
In my mind, I had this whole romantic evening planned out and I feel like the cheesy rose petals killed it for me. It was cute and my partner enjoyed it, but I guess this is one of those things that makes you say "it's the thought that counts."

As always, when I saw my package by the front door, I turned into the little kid in a candy store, so excited to play with my new toys. This time, I got A Bed of Roses Deluxe which included a beautiful black satin bag, scented silk rose petals, bubble bath, massage oil, a massager, some tea light candles and an invitation card. For some reason I didn't rush to open the box this time because I wanted to build up some anticipation and wait for my partner to come home. Originally I thought I'd surprise him, but I'm impatient, so that didn't happen.
Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed when I opened everything. The black satin bag was really nice, and I definitely think I will put that to good use. The rose petals did not feel like silk. They did smell really nice, but they just looked and felt kinda cheesy. I think from a distance they would do the trick, like a trail from the door up to the bedroom, but I really had no desire to put any on the bed. I thought they would be too annoying and uncomfortable. Honestly, I looked at them and thought a 10 year old cut out tear drop shapes in red fabric with safety scissors and said, "Here mommy, I made you flowers" and her mother started selling them.
The bubble bath on the other hand was nice. It smelled good, and left our skin nice and silky. It wasn't really bubbly – and that was fine. Too many bubbles can be overwhelming. There were a few bubbles in the beginning but they disappeared very quickly, yet the bubble bath still left my skin feeling pleasant, so while it didn't appear to be there, it was still working.
As for the edible chocolate massage oil, I didn't taste it, and didn't really like the thought of a chocolate oil all over my skin, so I passed on that, but my partner enjoyed it. The massager worked nicely, but the oil was a bit too oily on his skin or maybe I just used too much. We also used it without the oil, and it helped me crack his back. The shape really helps get it into the right spots and dig in there rather than using pressure with your hands. The tea lights added a nice touch to the bedroom and the invitation card just made us laugh, although you can really only use it once.
Overall I'm going to give A Bed of Roses Deluxe 2 out of 5 stars. I wasn't impressed. Follow-up commentary

Well, I haven't really used this since I have reviewed it. The bubble bath was great, and I've been putting the cheesy rose petals in gift bags. As for the rest, I don't even know where it is anymore.

I recommend the Enchanted Evening kit over this. I actually liked the petals, it must be the girly girl in me, they added a new element to our bedroom that I'd never experienced. Oh well.
