Protect my parts!

If you're one of those unfortunate people that gets razor burn, especially "down there" then you may want to give the Simply sensual after shave protection mist a try. You spray it on to help prevent those bumps and to create a barrier between your skin and clothes so irritation isn't caused by rubbing. Just expect a slight sting at first!

Use

Simply sensual's after shave protection mist is a spray that is designed to create a later of protection to freshly shaved body parts to help prevent unsightly bumps and irritation. You simply point, aim, and spray on to the area that has just been shaved. You may choose to then rub it in afterward depending on how close you got the pump to your skin. Closer will cause it to be more runny as it doesn't have that far to travel, a couple of inches away will allow the spray to mist out.

While the label may appear feminine to some, it can be used by either gender. Use it on your face, armpits, legs, genital region and any other body part that you may shave. I would use caution if applying to your face, just make sure you don't get it near your eyes. This isn't reserved for a "special" occasion and every time after shaving is a good time to grab it and apply.

For those with allergy concerns, the ingredients are:
Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Propylene Glycol, Polysorbate 20, Laendula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Maticaria) Flower Extract, Glycynhiza Glarbal Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glarbal (Licorice) Root Extract, Echinacea Agustifolia Extract, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Germ Extract, Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Fruit Extract, Epilobium Angustifolium Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Lilum Candidum Bulb Extract, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Extract, Trifolium Pratense (Clover) Flower Extract, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Lavandula Angusifolia (Lavender) Oil, Benzyl Alcohol, Polyquaternium-10, Potassium Sorbetat, Disodium EDTA.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The consistency can closely be compared to a body spray or perfume. It's watery, a bit thin, and will run (more so depending on how close the spray head is to the skin when sprayed). I always get close when applying it and then rub it in with my fingers to make sure it covers the entire area. It comes out of the pump top easily. It doesn't feel sticky or greasy at all. It dries and absorbs well into the skin.

One thing I did notice is that there is a slight sting for a few seconds when it is first applied. I have really sensitive skin so I'm not sure if that's why, or if people that don't have sensitive skin will feel a sting, I just thought I'd mention it.

Taste / Aroma

The aroma isn't one I care for. It sort of smells a bit botanical and chemical like, it made me crinkle up my nose a little, but I'm not one for outdoorsy type scents to begin with . The scent doesn't linger long and after a few minutes it's gone. It isn't super strong, but it's noticeable at first.

Performance

I only use this for my lady parts because it seems to be more prone to razor burn than my legs and armpits. I use it in conjunction with Coochy shave cream. Now, is it the Coochy that keeps the bumps away? The mist? Both? I honestly don't know. One thing I do know is that I got it because it helps create a protective barrier against your freshly shaved skin and your clothes, so when it rubs it doesn't irritate your skin. It does work for that purpose. While using it, I haven't had those itchy, burning, ugly, red razor bumps anymore. I recommend using it and the Coochy cream. Until using the products, I almost always got razor burn.

So, from my experience, it does it's job. I didn't have to carry it around in my purse to re-apply again. I just apply one coat after each shave and go about my day. Clean up is easy, if you want to wash it off (not sure why, unless it irritated your skin), it will come off with soap and water. You don't HAVE to rub it in like I do. There have been times where I'm in a hurry and I just spritz it on and go. It doesn't leave wet marks on my clothes or anything.

Packaging

The bottle is tasteful, I much prefer it to my Coochy protection mist that says Coochy loud and clear on it. I don't want a family member to stumble by my Coochy products while visiting, it's not THAT big of a deal, but it's something I feel is private to me. The name and what it is are listed on the front, on the back is some information about the mist and a list of ingredients. It's suitable for travel as long as the cap doesn't fall off.

Experience

Overall, this is a decent product, I chose it because it was slightly cheaper than the Choochy, so I decided to give it a try. I don't care for the stinging at first, but it doesn't last and isn't so uncomfortable that I wouldn't use the product again. For anyone with sensitive skin, I'd recommend it for after shaving.
Follow-up commentary
I've had this stuff for a few months now. I still like it, but it isn't my favorite, as that is the Coochy spray. I really hate the scent of this, though it does go away and doesn't linger. I always use this spray or the Coochy after shaving sensitive areas to avoid ugly razor burn and I haven't experienced any since using the product.

I have the Coochy shave protection they do work well together. I would try this because of the price being lower then the Coochy too. Great review, thanks for sharing!

I'm glad that you don't seem to have experienced the same leakage as I did! Thanks for reviewing.

I haven't noticed any leaking but mine sits in a basket wedged between my other products, so everything is upright, nothing leaning. The sprayer is screwed on and it doesn't leak from there either. I've had things that did, it's annoying. Especially when you try to spray and get nothing but stuff running.

Wonderful review, as always. I might try this eventually. I didn't know it worked so well. I had the lotion from SS in Green Tea and ew! It smelled bad, but I think I'll like other scents from them. True, this one isn't as obvious as the "Coochy!" I think I'd prefer this, even though it isn't a HUGE deal, it's still something that I would not want to explain in my shower, really. Lol.

I'll avoid getting the lotions then! I thought about it but always passed. I used to care about people seeing my "Coochy" stuff until it happened. Then I just admitted that yep, I use that stuff, so what? It was embarrassing at first but I'm over it now
