Powerful and Reliable go-to Vibe
The Hitachi is my go-to vibe for when I'm home or camming. Its reliable and fun. It is a bit heavy and can be noisy so it may not be the best for travel.

Pros
powerful, versatile and beginner friendly
Cons
can be loud, it has to be plugged into a wall
If you only have one vibe, this is the one to own. That is, if you like power! I have a "stubborn" clit when it comes to vibration. It's not always the easiest to reach orgasm with, especially if I've had a couple already. Smaller vibes, while great for travel or times when quietness is important, take a longer time for me than with the Hitachi.
I like that I can use it directly on my clit, or I can use any of the many types of attachments available if I want some other type of stimulation, including penetration. The variety that's available is awesome.
It has only two settings--high and low, both of which are pretty strong. If you put a cover or attachment over it, it gets a little weaker as it distributes vibes through to the piece before reaching your body. It has a really nice feel in my hands, but if I use it for more than an hour it will start to feel heavy due to it's weight. I love how it can get me off in under 5 minutes though, so it's rare that I need to hold it for that long, unless I'm doing a cam show or something else, like massaging my back. No, really, you can use it for massage too! It's actually quite nice to use for upper back tension and leg cramps from running.
I prefer to use the Hitachi alone rather than with a partner because it's loud and large. It's either an integral part of your play or it's in the way. Speaking of play, I've also used both water and silicone based lubes with this and it's been fine. There are some attachments that can smell funny, but the Hitachi itself is just fine to use with all types that I've tried, and I've tried a lot!
Cleaning & handling of this is not as easy as a basic dildo is. You must be careful with water. I've owned about 5 of these over three years, and broken two by treating them poorly. For one, do not use a wet towel, or rag (anything more than wet wipe) for cleaning the cord, connection points and the head/ball of the machine. I did a quick wipe with a too wet rag once and ended up ruining a connection which resulted in a spark, followed by an inoperable toy when plugged in. The other one was dropped and fell onto wood floors where the case split apart. I was able to glue it back together and then painted it so the scratched, cracked plastic didn't show, but it was never the same.
