Pour some Shunga on me!
Shunga has once again made a product that I absolutely adore. Shunga's Sweet Snow works well as a seductive powder to make you absolutely kissable and irresistible and also does wonders in the heat of summer to keep you feeling fresh and dry.

Pros
nice sweet flavor, subtle scent, decorative container
Cons
plastic bag it came with has chemically smell
Ok, maybe don't POUR it on me, but please dab a bit on me! It also doesn't make me hot or sticky, but it does make me sweet. Ok, so maybe Shunga Snow doesn't have much to do with Def Leppard's song, but it is pretty darned awesome anyway!
Shunga's Sweet Snow is an edible body powder in several different flavors. It's made from simple ingredients: modified starch, corn starch, and may also contain honey bake, aspartame and natural and/or artificial flavors. I got the Honey of the Nymphs one so I am thinking this one probably only has the aspartame and honey bake as there isn't much other flavor to this one other than sweetness. If you're sensitive to aspartame you might want to be careful, but the amount used is probably pretty negligible.
When I first received my Sweet Snow I have to say that I wasn't all that impressed. When I got my order it was about 95 degrees out and so the entire package was pretty hot to say the least. I have a thing about plastic smell as I've mentioned in some of my other reviews. I actually don't like to eat food that has touched plastic wrap because the smell lingers on the food and makes the food even taste like plastic wrap. Maybe I'm strange with this, I don't know. But, point is that when I opened my Shunga Sweet Snow all I could smell was the plastic baggy that the powder sits in. I think this is because the honey has such a light subtle flavor and the plastic had been heated up. I found that after applying the powder though that all I could smell was the light scent of honey and the plastic was no longer an issue. I also could not taste any kind of plastic aftertaste if the powder was licked off. I don't find it really tastes much like honey, but is just a general sweet taste, kind of like powdered sugar. But, just smelling that plastic every time I went to apply it was a turn off.
Once I did away with this baggy (thanks Carrie Ann for that tip!) I have been much happier with my sweet snow. What I did was just take the powder out of the bag and pour it directly into the decorative tin that it comes in. This not only solved my problem of the icky plastic smell, but it also makes it easier to dip the included feather brush in to get a bit of the powder. Only thing is now that it does make a slight puff of powder each time it's opened. It's not too much though and I find that it's so light that it hasn't made a powdery film over the counter that I keep it on.
You get quite a lot of powder in the tin too, 8oz. And with only using a bit at a time this will last quite a while. The tin also comes with a little satin pouch that if you choose to keep yours in the plastic bag it can hold the bag for you. Now that I don't use my bag I find the little pouch works great to hold other things like some mini bullets and things. The tin is nice and decorative, although it does have Shunga's artwork of the lovers entwined, so it's not 100% discreet. My kids have seen it and think it's just people wrestling though, so I think it's ok around at least younger kids. There's no actual nudity as the couple is primarily covered by fabric.

Experience
Ok so how does this Sweet Snow work you ask? Well, you dust it on as you would any other body powder, very lightly. Just a very thin layer of powder over your body. You can use the included feather dusting wand or a little brush if you have one. I like to do it after I put on my moisturizer as the final layer on my skin. If you layer it over top of Shunga's Massage Cream or another flavored body cream you can combine not only the scents but also the flavors. Although, like I said with this honey one there isn't too much flavor to it, just some sugary sweetness. It also has a very subtle scent so it is very forgiving and can be combined with just about any other scent.
I like using this in conjunction with Shunga's massage cream because the cream in general makes me feel a bit greasy. Layering it with the Sweet Snow helps counter balance it all out nicely. It works like that with my massage oils too, so I think just about any kind of lotion that you find makes your skin greasy or tacky could benefit from a light dusting of this powder.
Mike doesn't notice this powder in the way that he does some of my lotions, because it's more subtle. Sometimes I like that though, I like him to find me a bit more irresistible and not really know why. He'll kiss my skin and linger a bit longer than normal but he never seems to actually comment on the scent or flavor like he does with some other stuff. I think he's usually not sure if there's something on or not, just finds that I taste sweetly. You can also include your partner in on the fun and lightly dust each other with the powder. This isn't really our thing, but I imagine it could be fun if it is!
Shunga's Sweet Snow does wonders in the hot heat of summer. I dust it over my body before going out, and it's a white powder so it doesn't tint the skin at all, even if you sweat with it on. I find it helps keep chafing at bay and makes me feel drier and fresher. Also, even if I've been out in the heat I find I still feel kissable and huggable when I have this on. If you're going to be glistening, yes let's call it glistening, with sweat it might as well be a sweet smelling sweat right? So see we finally tied in the song, you can be Hot (say what) sticky sweet, from my head (my head) to my feet (yeah!) So I think the real question here is.. Do you take Shunga? One lump or two?

Follow-up commentary
3 months after original review
I love my Shunga snow, and I still have quite a bit left even though I used this pretty regularly during the summer. Now that it's starting to cool off I find that I need to layer it with some lotion, though that works out nicely especially with an edible cream like the Shunga Massage Cream. The cream on its own is a little tacky on the skin after applying, so the powder works nicely to smooth the skin and leave a nice soft feel rather than tacky, slighty sticky skin. Once I'm done with this jar I'll likely buy the Shunga snow again, though I'll be buying a different scent/flavor, the honey one is ok, but I think the others are probably even better.
