Ooey Gooey Vanilla Sparkles
The Cake lipgloss in Vanila Frost is a very pretty, pearly lipgloss with tiny pink sparkles. It is buildable and stays put once applied without bleeding. However, it is very obnoxiously sticky and has a very strong, lingering vanilla scent which may bother people who are sensitive to smells. It may also irritate the lips of people who sensitive skin, for it may tingle, itch, or sting after application.

Pros
Pearly, sheer finish, pink micro sparkles, buildable, does not bleed
Cons
Sticky texture, strong, lingering scent, may not be safe for people with sensitive skin
When I found out about the Cake Diamond Lipgloss, I was intrigued. I have honestly never heard of the brand before and thought that I should give it a try since I will be reviewing it for free. I was drawn to the Creamy White color (which is officially labeled as "Vanilla Frost" by the Cake company itself) because it reminded me of the pale, peachy lipglosses that are so popular in Japanese and Korean cosmetic brands.
When I first saw it, I thought that the color was really fitting for its name. In the tube, it comes off as a very pale, peachy pink color. It is currently the palest lipgloss that I own.
It looks quite opaque in its tube but swatches show that it actually quite sheer, with a soft, pearlescent finish. The best part about the finish is that it has a multitude of pink colored micro sparkles that truly add dimension to your lips. It isn't obnoxiously glittery as some of my other lipglosses, but it is sparkly enough to stand out in the light, as you can see from my picture below:
I have very pigmented lips so the lipgloss looks quite good on me because it really brings out the color of my lips while adding a bit of shine and sparkle.
Scent/Taste/Texture
The Vanilla Frost has a -- you guessed it -- vanilla scent. It is a very strong, sweet, almost buttery odor and actually lingers for several minutes after application. People who are sensitive to scents on their lip products should really stay away from it. While I do like the scent itself, I did not like the fact that the smell lingered for so long.
As for the taste, the lipgloss didn't have any unusual flavors but it does taste a tad sweet (Though that could be just me).
The texture is smooth, but VERY sticky. I am not crazy about sticky lipglosses because I'm a girl who likes wearing her hair down. My hair gets caught in my lips all the time when I'm wearing this, and I feel my lips stick together when I talk. I thought that wearing less amount gloss would remedy the problem, but it is still obnoxiously sticky!
Lasting Power/ Color Pay Off
As I said, the gloss is quite sheer and only gives your lips a layer of pearly shine with pink sparkle. I would say that the lasting power of the Cake gloss is average. I can go about an hour or more until my lips start absorbing it.
What I do like about it is that it does not run or bleed like some of my other glosses. Since it is so sticky, it stays on my lips without dribbling or settling into the corners of my mouth. I also like that it is quite buildable, and you can have thick, sparkling jelly lips by adding more layers, or have just a thin sliver of shine.
Packaging
The Cake lip gloss packaging is nothing extraordinary. It comes in a clear plastic tube with a shiny, silver colored cap. The logo and the ingredients are printed on a clear sticker. The product is applied using your typical, standard doe foot applicator. You get 11 ml or 0.4 oz of product per tube.

Experience
I have to warn you that this product is probably not hypoallergenic. The first few times I used it, my lips felt itchy and stung a little. However, I found that I eventually gained some kind of immunity to it when I started wearing it more often. My lips still get a strange tingling sensation from time to time, but the effect has diminished somewhat. This is not a lip plumper and it does not have a plumping effect, so I can't figure out why it tingles and itches...
But flaws aside, I think that it is a very decent lipgloss. It is stickier and has a stronger scent than what I am accustomed to, but it is very pretty and I like the effect it gives when worn on my lips.

Follow-up commentary
2 months after original review
As much as I love the look and the finish of this lipgloss, I simply cannot recommend it because of the annoying, itching feeling it gives me everytime I use it. I absolutely love how it looks especially if coupled with matte, smokey eyes, but the stickiness and the burning sensation can become very irritating.
I also find that the tube gets used up rather quickly, mostly because the stickiness gives me a hard time during application. It is a bit difficult to control the amount that you are using because of the thick consistency.
Now, it isn't a horrible lipgloss, but I would rather spend my money on something else.
