Not Very Passionate Fruits
Shunga's flavored bath and shower gel really is an interesting idea, however it could have been executed much better. I liked the idea of a tropical fruit flavored shower gel, however the scent and flavor were very nauseating to me. Mostly I could smell/taste banana and passion fruit. I think I probably would have enjoyed this more in the mint flavor. This gel does lather up and wash the body well and rinses off without leaving any tightness to the skin or any residue.

Pros
big bottle, made of natural oils, easy to dispense, lathers well, rinses off well
Cons
scent and flavor are nauseating, scent is too strong
I love trying out different body washes as much as I possibly can. I had never tried a flavored shower gel before and was interested to see how it tasted and how it worked to clean my body. I decided to try out the Shunga bath and shower gel in the tropical fruit flavor. I was really torn between flavors when I ordered, but I figured if I liked the product I'd just order the other flavor another time.
Shunga's bath and shower gel comes packaged in a tall plastic bottle with a black push-tab top. There's a safety seal underneath the cap that must be removed before use. The bottle measures 9 1/4 inches tall by 7 1/2 inches around. It contains 16 ounces of shower gel, which is about average compared to the rest of my body wash/shower gel bottles. This bottle is very tall, however it is slim enough to easily hold in one hand. The front of the bottle shows a Shunga graphic and logo. The back states that this shower gel is enhanced with vitamin E and is made from vegetable oils. This is repeated in French.
Ingredients:
Demineralized water, Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sucrose, Glycerin, Almond Oil, Grape Seed Oil, Avocado Oil, Sesame Oil, Safflower Oil, Flavor (Aroma), Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid, Sodium Chloride, Vitamin E Acetate, Aspartame, Aloe Vera, Colors: FD&C Red #40 (CI 16035), D&C Red #33 (CI 17200).
As you can see, the "vegetable oils" described as being the base of this is actually a combination of almond, grape seed, avocado, sesame, and safflower oils. This contains some natural flavorings as well as aspartame for a sweetener. There's a lot of controversy around the effects of aspartame on health, so you may want to avoid this product. Aspartame is used to sweeten diet soft drinks like Diet Coke. This also has glycerin in it, so I would avoid it if you are sensitive.
I'd like to note that the ingredients stated on my bottle (above) are not the same as the ingredients that EdenFantasys lists for this product.
When I ordered this, I was expecting a light, fruity scent that would wash away after my shower was over. I was about half right. The scent of this is very heavy to me. It smells like bananas, strawberry, passion fruit, and maybe some melon as well. As soon as I begin lathering up, the scent hits the steam from my shower and just absolutely fills my shower with a nauseatingly sweet, fruity scent. Of all the scents I can detect in it, the banana and passion fruit seem to be the strongest. I love bananas, but I feel their scent gets nauseating very fast when they are overpowering. I sometimes have difficulty breathing in the shower because of the steam, and this scent definitely seems to make it worse for me. Once I am done showering and have rinsed off, the scent completely disappears from my skin. The scent dissipates from the bathroom slowly and seems to be completely gone once the dampness and steam from my shower is gone.
The flavor is much like the scent, however it is not nearly as strong. It tastes sweet and fruity like passion fruit and banana. I could only really taste it if I licked the gel straight from the bottle or licked the foam. I couldn't taste anything on skin if this rinsed off. It doesn't taste like fake flavoring and doesn't leave a bad aftertaste like products with aspartame typically do.
The consistency and lather of this shower gel isn't really all too incredible. It's average with that of other shower gels. This is medium-thick and easy to squirt out onto a wash cloth or shower pouf. A little bit of rubbing on the wash cloth or pouf gets it to start lathering up. It doesn't get super foamy and rich like body washes do, however those have a lot more rich and creamy ingredients in them. A quarter-sized amount of this created enough lather to wash my entire body easily. The color of the gel in the bottle is a warm pink. It creates a barely pink foam when it begins to lather.
Once you go to rinse off, this comes off very easily. It didn't leave any residue, scent, or flavor on my skin at all once I was done showering. My skin also did not feel tight or anything from this gel. At the same time, my skin does not feel moisturized like it does with a body wash, however I was expecting this. Products labeled as a shower gel or products that are clear typically do not moisturize skin as well as products with a creamy, solid color to them.

Experience
When I bought this, we had a full tub-shower combo. Unfortunately, we moved out of our apartment so that we could save money to buy a house. My parents house has a stall shower, which is almost impossible to just bathe in together, let alone have any fun in. So we won't really be able to fully enjoy this gel until we buy a house in a few months. This product would be great to use when showering together either way, since you can kiss the foam off of your partner. I think it would work well combined with any of the Sex in the Shower line of products.
Overall, I found this gel to be about an average product. My fiancé and I don't really like the scent/flavor, especially since it seems like mostly bananas and the scent is too strong. Being a flavored shower gel is cool, however I would definitely prefer a different scent. I'd like to try the mint flavor to see if that is a little less nauseating. I do like that the bottle contains a good amount of gel for the price, though.

Follow-up commentary

My opinion on this gel is still the same. It's okay for bathing, but the scent makes me want to avoid using this. Compared to every other flavored and scented product meant to be slathered on a partner and licked off, this comes in at about average. It's tolerable, but it doesn't make my mouth water.
