Pros
reusable, great for massages
Cons
could be hotter
I am so glad that I bought these! My boyfriend often gets awful backaches that a simple massage just can't fix. These wonderful little hot-pads work just great, especially since they don't get scalding hot, unlike a heating pad. When activated, they get to be as solid as a rock, which is perfect for giving massages. However, there's no handle, so they may slip in your hands if you use them with massage oil. These are also perfect for keeping your hands warm on cold, rainy days. Just heat them up and put them in your pockets, and you'll be toasty warm all day.
To re-use these, simply boil them in a pot of water for about seven minutes, or until they're no longer solid. The box isn't really the greatest storage container, since it's pretty much just a regular box with no padding, but it can be recycled, which is good. These are made out of vinyl, so they aren't sticky and they won't gather lint. The vinyl is very soft and smooth, which is an added bonus when using them for massages. Since they can be boiled, they can definitely be sterilized. Vinyl can be used with just about any type of lube or massage oil, and since they don't collect hair, you could easily put them in the back of your sock drawer. If you forget them in your pockets, they won't become hairy, nasty lumps of vinyl.
My only problem with these is that they only come in bright pink, and that they're a tad bit too big for my pockets, depending on the coat. Regardless, these are absolutely fantastic and I would definitely recommend them to anyone with a sore back, cold hands, or whatever comes to mind. The best thing about these is, they never get old, so you can use them to your heart's content!
