Not A Perfect Pout But A Perfect Shine
Overall, I would give this gloss a thumbs up. I would recommend this product if you want to dress up your lips with something different and add a good color to your lip palette. Great for wearing on a date night or to a party.

Receiving this gloss for a free review was a bit more exciting to me than previous assignments. I am a big fan of make-up accessories so venturing into a new category made sense. The particular gloss color I got was called Tokyo (Red). The pout booster is pink with glitter. The duo comes exactly as shown in the picture, the main color in the larger end and the booster in the smaller end. This crafty design makes it sensible for easy travel, so you are not carrying several pieces of lip color in your bag and basically creates a fast application process.
Opening the main color, the applicator is like that of any other retail gloss; a soft fuzzy tip. When applying the gloss, I suggest to first dot across the lips then spread it. If applied this way you will use less resulting in a longer life span for the gloss. Going on, there is a very smooth and soft texture. It doesn't sit on the lips heavily, either, a lighter application makes for a nicer experience. At this point, the main color doesn't make your lips feel very sticky, rather glossy. Does it come out to be a solid red? Not quite. It is more of an opaque red like color giving your lips a rose tint. Nonetheless, I'm not one for bold flashy things so the softer look to the color is perfect for me.
The next step to this duo is the pout boost. The applicator to the booster is different from the main color. With this, it is an actual brush similar to ones found with high end glosses. When applying, the main color does stain onto the brush a bit, but it doesn't completely take off the main color. It is very much like when you apply a clear coat of nail polish over a color. The base color may stain the tip of the brush, but it is not significant enough to worry about. Here's where the sticky part comes in. Because the booster is thinner and wetter than the base color, it will make your lips stickier. This is not to say the booster makes it feel heavy. There is still a light feeling, just gummier than with only the main color.
So, if you have long hair and you tend to wear it down, I would either pin it back when you wear the gloss or just try to keep your hair away from your face. Otherwise, you will end up with gloss in your hair. Does it make your lips pout more than usual? I wouldn't say so. Does it make your lips shinny and stand out? Yes, most definitely. The shine certainly has your lips displaying desire and screams "These lips are made for kissing." It is great for generating eye action from your man or the cute guy in the crowd you've been waiting to introduce yourself to.
As for the lasting power of the duo I would give this item two thumbs up. Without drinking or eating while wearing it this gloss lasts longer than your typical gloss; 3-4 hours in fact. Depending on if you are eating it still lasts from 30 minutes to an hour.
When it does start to wear, the skin on the lips comes loose creating that "I have to go to the bathroom and peel it off before someone notices" anxiety. Hence the reason it loses a star. However, the redeeming quality is that even after the gloss has worn, your lips are left feeling soft. When other glosses wear off there is the immediately dry and chapped texture. But this duo uniquely keeps the dryness away even after the color is gone. Is this gloss pout worthy? No. Shine and last worthy? Yes. And that is why I give it a high rating and recommend every gal should have one tucked in a purse pocket.

Follow-up commentary
2 months after original review
I use this handy duo lip gloss when I'm on the go, special occasions, and when I don't feel like re-applying my everyday chapstick every 15 minutes. I recommend this to every woman from 18-90. The color is subtle, and the shine is out of this world.
