No shivers but still delivers!
This toy is so worth it. You don't need a partner to use it because of its length. It feels absolutely amazing. And while it won't always make you shiver, it is sure to relax you!

Pros
Simple to use, feels fantastic, solo use!
Cons
If you bend it too much the prongs might get weak.
This toy says it provides shivers all over. To be honest, it doesn't for me. I can massage my back with it and my legs and arms and stomach though, and I do enjoy it. It is made of metal and wood, I'm assuming the metal is copper because it looks and smells of it. So it's hypoallergenic. It comes in a box that is slender, so you have to separate the fan parts out yourself. I separated them to about an inch apart each, and I found that feels best for me.
Material/Texture/Build:
Honestly there is not a ton to say about this part. It has little round balls on the end of the fan pieces that feel really nice. If you run it really lightly down someones back, it does tend to cause shivers. It feels nice and relaxing. The handle is wood and is comfy and smooth; the fan is copper. It is 13 3/4" long. It comes with the fan all closed up, so you'll have to separate it yourself. As I mentioned before, mine is about an inch apart on each one and I find that works best for me. But you can experiment and bend it differently to see what you like best.
Packaging:
It comes in a plastic package. It's relatively discreet, but this really is a back massager so you shouldn't have to worry about explaining it to anyone. You can store it in the box, however you'll have to keep bending and unbending the prongs, which over time would weaken them, so I wouldn't recommend it. I keep this in my toy drawer in my dresser with the rest of my toys. It doesn't really got caught in anything, though I have one whip it tangles with occasionally. So be mindful of that if you keep it with your toys. I wouldn't worry too much about storage as far as material though. The material is very safe.
Usage:
My favorite part! Obviously this is a back massager, and you can use it for other parts of your body, like running it up and down your legs, arms, stomach and back. But I want to talk about how I use it. I get in a nice hot shower, and use it THEN. Especially if I have lathered up in soap. I think it feels great in contrast to the hot water beads hitting my back, and then have that solid fanning run up and down. It moves really smooth with the soap too. You can also use this with massage oil outside of the shower and get the same effect. I've just found that I like it more this way. I feel like the cold prongs create an interesting sensation when used in the hot shower, but you could mimic this with a warming lubricant if you wanted! I've also found that scalp massages are GREAT with this. The only issue is that you might want to bend the prongs closer together for that, and with time, bending the prongs a lot weakens them. I use mine the same either way, I don't bend it at all if I can avoid it. But I've found even as far apart as I keep them, a head massage is nice with it. Just be careful of tangles, it is much the same as using a brush but can be more tangled due to the length of the prongs.
I'd also like to add that temperature play is awesome with this. You can use a warming massage oil, and throw this in the freezer for a couple minutes, and the sensation is even more intense. You can also put this under hot water and use it that way after it is warmed up. Make sure to be careful not to get it too hot though. You don't want to boil it and burn yourself, just hot water.
Cleaning:
This can be cleaned with soap and water, and patted dry with a towel. Chances are you aren't going to get this very dirty. Massage oil can get caught in the part where the fan points meet at the handle, so just rinse it really well with soap and water and let it dry. I haven't had any problems with it so far.

Experience
Honestly, I'm going to go back to the shower part, because I'm simply raving mad happy about it. Even if you don't have a partner, this is fabulous alone. This is my "me" toy. I use this on myself all the time. Mostly in the shower, but it is super relaxing to run it up and down my legs and arms while I'm laying in bed. And my tummy and back are super relaxed by it in the shower. So obviously it's nice and waterproof.
Follow-up commentary
2 months after original review
One of the prongs on this has gotten especially weak and is looking as if it's going to break, but it still seems to be holding up great, so we will see what happens. I've had it a few months now and it hasn't broke, but I've really been trying not to bend it, and I suggest if you get one, avoid bending it after the initial placement of the prongs. It really does weaken after being maneuvered a lot.

I wouldn't like, LEAVE it submerged in water, but if you pat it dry after the shower, it shouldn't warp or rust. It does have an enamel of some sort over the wood and the copper seems to be coated with something to keep it from tarnishing as well. But so far it's in great shape.
