No Julia Roberts, BUT....
This is one item I'm glad I paid more than 99 cents for! It was worth it, now my lips aren't so dry. It's like a small spa treatment for your lips. I would recommend this brand of lip balm to someone else.

I bought Dona plumping lip balm, manufactured by System JO, about a month ago, and almost immediately sent it back. I ordered the camu camu lemon drop flavored lip balm by accident; I am not a fan of anything lemon at all! But, I decided to go ahead and give it a try, and thankfully, while the lemon is there, it isn't overwhelming. I really enjoy the fact that it does have some natural ingredients - such as beeswax, olive fruit oil, cocoa seed butter, shea butter, and honeysuckle flower extract.
As far as the packaging goes, I was a bit concerned. I had ordered other items, and the lip balm was just loose in the bottom of the box, so if I hadn't pulled out the packaging paper I may not have found it. I like the simple but straightforward design of this little item, and would like to try other flavors as well.
On first inspection, the actual lip balm feels quite grainy, but when applying to the lips, it felt soothing and it lacks that greasy-paint-y feeling I have when I use other lip balms/chapsticks. The smell almost reminded me of cough drops, believe it or not, but it wasn't an overwhelming scent. Another plus was that it was tasteless, and doesn't come off in the slightest breeze.
After applying, there is a tingling sensation - don't panic though! It's not like an allergic reaction or a bad tingle, trust me. It doesn't last more than a minute or two, and then you forget you have it on, but your lips will thank you!
The big question - does it plump?
Well, as the title suggests, I do not have that pouty smile I would love to have, but my lips feel so much softer (I guess that's what you get when you don't go for the cheapest chapstick at the Wal*Mart checkout!), and they do seem more filled out. Not a huge difference, mind you; unfortunately you can't get Angelina Jolie lips unless you're born with them or pay a pretty penny to your nearest cosmetic surgeon. But after using this lip balm for the last month, I am prepared for any smooch that comes along!

This sounds like icky chap stick. Grainy is not my cup of tea. I like a thick, smooth gliding balm. Sorry you were disappointed in this not plumping. I've no idea why System Jo had the idea to label their DONA line as "plumping" and "aphrodisiac" when none of their products actually have ingredients for that, and they do not actually bring about any sort of the claimed effects! That would just let me down more than had it never claimed to plump. I'm really picky though. Lol. I was hoping this would be a little better for the price.

Thanks for sharing! I have this lip balm, too, and I didn't experience any plumping either. Still, it's nice to have on hand, but I do prefer my good ol' classic Chapstick
