Nifty, Thrifty, and Useful!
In all, this is one thing that I cannot live without. It has so many purposes and doesn't break the bank. There is no more use for disposable heating packs or cumbersome heating pads. Just pull out your heart!

Gets very hot at beginning
This is by far the best investment I have made recently. This little guy heats up things in the bedroom, but has multiple purposes elsewhere. From menstrual cramps to aches and pains, sexy massages and even keeping your toes warm, this heart warmer is your best friend. This is an economical choice, saving you money on disposable heating devices and heating pads, and everyone in the family can find a use for it.
The greatest feature of this eight dollar wonder is that is is reusable! When you first get your heart, it will be liquidy. By snapping the metal circle back and forth, warmth quickly disperses out. The heart is the size of your palm and gradually gets harder as it gets warmer, until it is solid. This is caused by a chemical reaction from the bending of the metal disk. Without getting too much into scientific jargon, the heart starts in a gel form. Snapping the disc causes a crystalization process due to the salterated solution (sodium acetate- or "the gel"). Because the crystalized form has less energy than the gel, heat is created. It lasts for around forty-five minutes before it completely cools. A few quick minutes in a boiling pot of water brings the heart back to liquidy life. I have found that seven minutes is the perfect time for this; you don't want to leave it in too long and be careful while removing it from the water. It would be best to use tongs and let it cool on the counter top for ten minutes afterwards. If you have used lube on the heart, it may be best to clean it with warm soapy water before boiling it.
For massages, adding a lubricant made it easier to use on skin contact. I would caution that as this product does get hot at times, I do not recommend putting this on any "sensitive" areas (i.e. genitals). However, it is perfect for backs, abdomen pain from menstrual cramps, sore necks, and minor sprains and aches. Additionally, I would be careful not to get it near any sharp objects that could possible puncture the material and cause the liquid to leak out. While I have not tried it in the freezer for cold play, that may be another possible use. I am unsure if "the gel" will freeze or not, or if it would have an adverse affect on the heat activation. I do know that I would recommend that everyone should get themselves a heart warmer; I can't imagine life without mine!

Experience
As I mentioned, this is great to use for massages; however, I must warn you that this guy gets fairly hot at the beginning. I recommend wrapping a washcloth around it until it cools somewhat. Also, if you are going to use it for massages, the texture does not work well with skin. I always add a little bit of lube for easy gliding during massages.

I actually thought that mine didn't get hot enough lol! We had ours forever, but eventually it wore down and we had to get rid of it. so sad! I always mean to grab another one when I put an order through, but I tend to forget. :p
