My New Must Have
While a sex toy store probably wouldn't be the first place you'd think to look for beauty products, Cake's Satin Sugar Hair and Body Powder is my new favorite hair product. Nothing is better for your hair than its own natural oils so the less you shampoo your hair, the healthier it will be. Cake's Satin Sugar allows you to skip a shampoo (or 2) and still look nice and fresh. I can't say enough good things about this product.

I'm lazy, I admit it. I hate to wash my hair every day. And luckily for me, my hair dresser says that shampooing my hair as little as possible is really good for my hair and prolonges my color. So it's a win/win. I don't condition my hair, which helps extend time between shampoos and I use a dry shampoo. The biggest problem with dry shampoos are they are either a white powder that can make my hair look dull or they are clear and they don't really absorb any excess oil. Satin Sugar Hair and Body Powder is a tinted powder and it does a wonderful job of absorbing oil and refreshing my locks but because it's tinted, it doesn't leave my hair looking like a powdered wig. It smells sweet, like a chocolate cake but it's not overpowering. To use, I sprinkle the powder directly on to my hair at the roots at my part and around my hair line and then work it in with my fingers. My hair is red and I was worried that the chocolatey colored powder would look weird in my hair, but the color blends very well so I would assume it will work for a wide variety of hair colors provided your hair isn't very light. If you have fine hair and you want more volume and texture, you can use this powder on clean hair to give your hair more lift.
It says it can be used as a body powder but I'm not too sure how well that would work. I'm extremely pale so a body powder that looks like hot cocoa mix is probably not going to work on me but I would be hesitant to use it as a body powder even if I had a darker skin tone because I wouldn't want to stain my clothes with it. And the powder will transfer. It's easy enough to dust it off of dark colored clothes if some should fall on your shoulders while your putting it in your hair, but I wore a white ribbon in my hair while using the Satin powder and it turned the edges of the ribbon brown--not noticeably and it did wash out easily.
While $17.99 may sound like a lot of money to spend on less than 2oz of product (1.7 oz to be exact), I can assure you, it will last a while. I would go through those aerosal cans of dry shampoo in about 2 weeks but I got my can on of Cake Satin Sugar in the beginning of December, I use it several times a week and I still have quite a bit left in my can.

Experience
I'm a beauty product junkie. I love getting new make up, hair potions, lotions, whatever. So when I got my Satin Sugar Hair and Body Powder in the mail, I couldn't wait to try it. The only problem was, I couldn't figure out how to open it. Its packaging is similar to a can of spices (like cinnamon) where you twist the top and it exposed a small hole you can either pour the contents from of sprinkle. Urgh, just see the picture I posted, this is hard to explain. So I couldn't find a way to get in to the darn thing. I took a knife and popped a hole in the inner part of the lid but it never really seals when you close it. There's no way I would be able to travel with it, even in a plastic zip tight baggie it would still make a mess. I'm going to give Cake the benefit of the doubt and assume that I'm just doing something wrong but I think instructions on how to open it would be helpful.
