Yes it is a little noisy, but I don't find that to be an issue. I mean if my mother is visiting I probably won't bust it out, but it's not like a lawnmower. The head is like a tennis ball feel minus the green fuzzy stuff, obviously. I clean the top with soap and water since toy cleaner tends to irritate my skin and that works just fine. I use this mostly by myself, but it's amazing with a partner too. I like using it during missionary style since the head it a little larger it's harder to use female on top. (But can definitely be done!) I do not recommend inserting it internally.. besides, it's pretty big so it would be quite a feat if you even could.
