The Extreme Pure Gold is meant for external stimulation. It can be used all over the outside of the body and is great for focusing on the clitoris and breasts. This toy is not meant to be inserted vaginally or anally. Its simplicity makes it a great beginner vibrator and can be used solo or with a partner. Even though it does not look phallic, it does not look very discreet either. The Extreme does have some powerful vibrations for its size, and I was pleasantly surprised with how quiet they are.

Its small size makes it easy to travel with, and since it runs on batteries (2 AAA), charging is not an issue. This toy is also waterproof so you can take it in the bath or shower, just make sure to close the battery compartment completely, especially before submerging in water.

The Extreme Pure Gold has a hard, smooth feel, is lightweight, and (according to the packaging) is covered in 24k gold. The materials used are ABS plastic with gold plating. The ABS plastic used is food-grade, latex free, phthalates free, and hypo-allergenic. It has no odor or taste to it. It is not porous, so sharing this toy should be fine as long as you thoroughly disinfect it before and after each use. Do not boil or freeze this toy. The extreme does not absorb lubricant, so you only need a small amount.

I love the feel of the smooth material with the shine of the gold plating. To be honest, I thought it would look more tacky than it does in reality. I was also a bit surprised at how durable the ABS plastic seems after I had to hit it a few times to knock the batteries out. As for the gold plating itself, I already see a few little scratches on it but it is nothing that has caused any problems. I just picked at a few of them and the coloring did not flake off so I wouldn't be too concerned about it becoming a safety issue. It doesn't have any drag or collect hair and lint. There is one very thin seam going around the length of the toy, but it wasn't noticeable at all during use.

The curved design reminds me of a small arm with a hand cupped at one end. The shaft is a 3" rectangle with the battery compartment located at the very bottom. To put the batteries in, just open the cap, pop them in, and close it (make sure you hear the click to know it is closed completely). I thought the battery compartment was extremely hard to open. I spent a good fifteen minutes taking turns with a friend trying to open this thing. Eventually we got a gripper circle to open it and it even ripped that in the process. After a few more tries, we finally got it open and thankfully it gets a little easier after a few times. The neck is 2" around (not much bigger than the width of a small finger), followed by the cupped hand shape, which is 3.5" around at its widest part. The toy is 5" long from base to tip.

The shape reminds me of toys meant for g-spot stimulation, but this is not the case. Besides the packaging specifying the Extreme is for external use only, the curved part is a small, awkward shape that isn't very comfortable for insertion. It is meant for clitoral and all over stimulation and the cupped hand shape is nice for cradling the clitoris or nipples. The strongest vibrations are located on the back of the curve which works okay, but I wish they were more focused in the curve going to the tip. The curved shape can be used in a variety of ways: the back for stronger, broader vibrations, and the tip for more specifically focused vibrations.

Extreme Pure Gold is powered with 2 AAA batteries. As previously mentioned, I found the battery compartment to be insanely difficult to open the first few times. On the bright side, it does really prevent water from getting in when submerged. The small size makes it great to travel with. Overall, it seems like a durable, decent quality vibrator.

It doesn't get much simpler than this. There is one push button located on bottom of the toy which has two functions; on and off. This makes it easy to use and less intimidating for beginners or those looking to introduce a toy into foreplay. The Extreme is very quiet. Sometimes it doesn't shut off when you press the button. For this, just take the batteries out and put them back in. I have tried tapping it a few times to see if that would help but so far, no luck with that method.

Since there is only one vibration speed, it might help those with more sensitive clitorises to place a small cloth or underwear between them and the toy. Personally, I prefer something with more powerful vibrations but these were still enough to get me off easily.

Just use warm water and soap before and after each use of the Extreme. The vibrator is waterproof, so you can submerge it in water, just make sure the cap to the battery compartment is securely closed before washing or when using. Use only water based lubricant with this product to avoid any unnecessary damage. The packaging does not say if mild or antibacterial soap is preferred. I typically use antibacterial and it has been fine. Although I have not tried this, you should be able to wipe it down with rubbing alcohol to disinfect. This toy is very easy to clean. There are no hard to get at places or big seams that require special attention. After washing, I just dry it off with a paper towel and store it back in the original packaging. Remove the batteries when not in use.

There was no odor from this toy and it should be fine to store with others since it is made of plastic and not silicone. The plastic material also creates less of a lint and hair magnet so setting it down after cleaning isn't as bad as with jelly and silicone toys.

The Extreme is enclosed in plastic display packaging that shows the actual product along with a picture of a half-dressed blonde girl. The back has a picture of her again, along with a picture of the product. The back and front of the packaging lists some features of the toy, as well as cleaning, lubricant, and battery instructions. Even though it isn't discreet, it can be used for storage. There is no other booklet containing any information about the product and no batteries are included.

For opening the battery compartment the first few times, it helps to have a gripper circle (those rubbery flat things to help you get a good grip for opening bottles, jars, etc.) or a guy with strong hands and a good grip.

I prefer stronger vibrations, but for a small travel vibrator it was fairly powerful. I was able to climax using the Extreme Pure Gold no problem. It's surprisingly quiet and durable. For a compact travel vibrator, I personally like it more than I expected. I understand they want a battery compartment that keeps water out and the batteries in, but it was just so hard to open. I still have some trouble with it although it is much easier. Usually I prefer rechargeable toys (go green!), but when traveling to other countries, it is nice to have a battery operated toy since batteries are easy to find, you don't have to worry about outlets, converters, etc.
