Finally, a lavender product on EdenFantasys that I can enjoy! The best part about this product, for me, is that the smell is what I expect of a product that contains lavender and chamomile essential oils. For those of you who appreciate using natural products, you should consider this moisturizer.

Pros
Ingredients, essential oils scent, natural
Cons
Not vegan (beeswax), expensive, allergy concerns, can be a little runny
This moisturizer is lovely for anyone who prefers to use natural and organic products, like myself. This lotion is not tested on animals, but it does contain beeswax so it isn't vegan-friendly. This would make a lovely gift, and though it is a bit pricey you get what you pay for. Anyone who is used to buying products that contain essential oils, such as this, knows that they can be a little bit more expensive than other products on the market - but they are well worth it, in my opinion. Especially when you consider the aromatherapy properties of the lavender and chamomile! Anyone who is looking to de-stress, consider this lotion - I'll go more into the benefits of lavender and chamomile later in the review.
If you have an allergy to any of the ingredients, I would advise against using it in that case. It does contain aloe and almond oil, I know that both of those are allergens for many people. So if you have a nut allergy or aloe allergy, avoid this product. The bottle has all of the ingredient info on it, and they have info about their ingredients here on their website.
This lotion falls somewhere between thick and thin, it is a rich lotion but it is runny. The photo above is of the lotion on the tip of my finger. I had just applied it to the tip of my finger, and within 10 seconds it went from being a bead on my fingertip to running down my finger.
It is very creamy, but also feels slightly oily on the skin, but mind you it is made with oils so that should be expected; it doesn't leave you looking shiny or greasy though. It is very smooth, and once applied to your skin your skin will feel very smooth to the touch.
The smell is not too strong, not light either. When applied to the skin it smells light, not like it does in the bottle. I am very happy about the smell, which is had to come by with some products that claim to smell of lavender. Lavender is my favorite scent, specifically lavender essential oils and products that contain them and smell true to the scent. I hate getting a "lavender" product only for it to smell nothing like actual lavender, and have a chemical floral smell. I hate floral scents, but I love lavender. Lavender oil has an light earthy, clean, fresh herbal smell - it shouldn't smell like a flower bouquet! This is true to that, which I appreciate most about this product.
My partner was excited to see what new things I ordered from EdenFantasys when I told him I had ordered a few packages recently. I showed him all of my new goodies, and he examined each other them including this moisturizer. He opened it and I asked how he thought it smelled and what he thought it smelled. "It smells like lavender. And chamomile...it's nice." Mind you, he had not smelled it before this, and can be picky with scents. He does not like perfumey smells, florals, or chemical/artificial scents - he likes this. I figured that his unbiased opinion was perfect to include in this review.
As for the taste, I would not know. You shouldn't consume this product.
As I had said, this feels a bit oily when first applied, but it absorbs into the skin and does not leave you feeling greasy or grimy when you wear it. It feels natural on the skin, and is not heavy feeling . I felt that when I applied my foundation to my face after this was applied and absorbed, that the foundation held better to my face. You do not have to reapply this lotion, just once before bed or in the morning after washing your face is fine.
As I had said previously, there are some allergy concerns with this. Check out the ingredients list before you buy it or apply it to your skin! And again, it is not vegan, as it contains beeswax.
This moisturizer comes in a 2 ox. brown glass apothecary type of bottle, with a white plastic pump top that is easy to use. It is wrapped in a plastic bag when you first receive you package, to prevent leaking, spills, or damages of any kind. There is no issue with the bottle leaking, the lotion is thick enough that I wouldn't really expect if to leak out, and the pump top is sealed on well. You can unscrew the pump top and screw it back onto the bottle, and there is still no likelihood of it leaking if you put it back on properly. The bottle is pretty small and can fit into a purse, makeup bag, suitcase, etc. It is very travel friendly.
As you can see in my picture, it is not a very large bottle. I compared it in the photo above to an average-sized stick of lip balm, to give you some idea of scale.
I think this is worth it, personally. The benefits of lavender oil, and chamomile as well, are wonderful. Lavender is known to be one of the most calming plants/flowers/oils. Here is a link to some of the many benefits of lavender oil and chamomile oil.
I will admit, I have good skin now but used to have very bad acne for years that went away in recent years; so I am still concerned about products making me breakout, even though I have had clear skin for a few years now. The bottle says it is meant for dry to combination skin. I didn't want to put this on my face and then end up with a bad breakout suddenly within days of wearing it, and I have one particular moisturizer that I have used for the past few years that I have been very happy with so I was afraid to change that routine.
Initially, I was worried about putting this on my face, so I applied it to my arm instead, as I sometimes get very dry skin. I have eczema, sensitive skin, and have reacted badly (itching, rashes, etc.) to certain skin and body products on several occasions, so I am always a little bit nervous testing out a new one no matter the ingredients. This worked well when I first put it on my arm, my skin had a faint lavender chamomile scent - which smelled of natural, essential oils so I was happy! My arm skin did not react, and it absorbed leaving my skin smooth and not oily very quickly. The smell faded within an hour or so. Upon testing it out on my face today, I have not had a problem yet. I have one blemish on my cheek that came up out of nowhere the other day, so I am hoping that best case scenario the lavender oil and aloe and all the other lovely ingredients will clear that up! We shall see, and I will be discussing any new developments in my follow-up review.
Follow-up commentaryI still like it26 days after original review
I really like this product. I might actually pick up a bottle for a friend of mine, since she tried this on her skin and loved the smell and feel of it. She just tried it on her hand, and told me that hours later it still felt so soft and nice. Recently, I got a bottle of the Neroli/Sandalwood as well. To me, that one smells just like fresh ginger. I have some recipes that I make that I grate fresh ginger into - the Neroli/Sandalwood smells EXACTLY like that to me. If you like the smell of ginger, you would like that moisturizer. It's not overpowering, it's not too strong, and the smell does fade as you wear it. Other than the scent, it has all of the same qualities as the Lavender/Chamomile lotion. I prefer the Lavender to this one though, and have since ordered a back-up bottle of it, just to keep it on hand. I am partial to lavender scents, and that one just smells great to me. I can use it on my face everyday - morning, or night, after washing my face - and I don't seem to get breakouts from it.
