While not entirely "breath freshening", this light lip balm softens with a gentle cooling sensation. Even after wearing off, lips are left soft and supple and not at all greasy feeling.
Minty Breath Freshening Lip Balm by Not Soap Radio is a lightweight, non-greasy lip balm with a kiss of mint flavoring that adds a nice cooling sensation to your lips. The ingredient list consists of only three items (Petrolatum, Cottonseed Oil, Flavoring), which is good for those wanting fewer ingredients in their products. But for anyone who has a problem with Petrolatum (or Petroleum jelly), I would suggest looking elsewhere.
Unlike the photo on the product page, this lip balm is blue, not pink. A light coating of product is picked up easily by swirling your finger over the solid and smooth balm; though because of this lightness, I personally had to do this several times to achieve an adequate coverage.
But I point out again that this product left a very light and non-greasy feeling on my lips and the finger used to apply it. There is also no waxy feeling, which I actually do prefer, like in Burt's Bees lip balms, because it does help the product last longer.
The Minty Breath Freshening Lip Balm smells quite minty in the pot and on the lips, though the minty smell/cooling sensation does fade within 5 to 10 minutes after application. There is not much of a taste other than your normal petrolatum-based lip balm taste, which is quite faint.
This product may be called "Breath Freshening" but I wouldn't expect anything of the sort from it. It does have a nice minty scent, but definitely not enough to overcome even the mildest halitosis. That being said, the balm is quite light and smooth, is easy to apply and does its job (which is to moisturize lips) rather well.
Because there are no wax ingredients, an application of this balm doesn't last as long as a product containing it (namely my favorite balm by Burt's Bees). Without eating or drinking anything, a single application lasted me roughly 45 minutes to an hour before I could no longer feel it on my lips. Even after it had absorbed into my skin, my lips were still quite soft.
Even though it is blue in the pot, there is no color to this product and it goes on clear and leaves lips slightly shiny without glitter or shimmer. The cooling sensation is subtle and not a bit overwhelming, but as I mentioned above, that sensation doesn't last long and fades after a few minutes.
The packaging for this product is very discreet and one would never guess it was purchased from a sex toy store. The pot is white with a simple to twist off lid. The blue label on top states the name of the product, manufacturer, volume (1/3 oz.), and a pair of red lips. On the bottom of the pot, the label lists the ingredients (Petrolatum, Cottonseed Oil, Flavoring), and Not Soap Radio's address, website and logo. Again, the packaging is very discreet and simple and wouldn't tip off anyone to where it was purchased, which definitely makes this a great gift.
Inside the mailing box, this balm was tucked inside a small ziploc baggie. It was also wrapped inside the brown paper packing material for the rest of my order, so mind that if you don't want to accidentally throw it out like I almost did.
Even though this didn't freshen my breath (which isn't the reason I purchased it in the first place), I rather liked this lip balm. It didn't taste horrible and I had to reapply it just about as often as I do any of my other lip balms. The best thing about this is that it didn't leave my lips drier after using it, which surprisingly some balms actually do.
I don't personally have a problem using products with Petrolatum, even with its potential breast cancer risks. Frankly there are many items and ingredients that we all use on a daily basis that could have potential cancer risks, so a pot of lip balm doesn't concern me.
Even though I haven't tried this myself, you can also rub this balm on your nipples for a quick shot of cooling perkiness. And if you're into taking those cooling sensations down south, this lip balm actually has way less ingredients than clitoral creams and would pack much less of a punch. But be warned, keep this away from condoms because Petrolatum weakens latex.
The only bad thing about this product (and why I must subtract one star) is that it comes only in pots. I would prefer a tube because I find pots to be unsanitary and inconvenient unless of course you use a lip brush to apply this, which I don't.
Follow-up commentaryI still like it1 day after original review
Even though I've just recently written a review for this, I've been using the balm since late December and I have to say that even though I still like it, it gets used less and less. When I reach into my nightstand drawer to grab a lip balm, I always brush this aside simply because of its container. I definitely prefer balm in a tube so it might be quite some time before I actually use this all up.

@cbmb716 Haha, yeah, I had that thought, too! You're not eating the product, so I wouldn't expect any breath freshening
