Use

The Dona line is brought to us by System JO. They've created an affordable beauty line that works just as well as top-of-the-line bath products. The Dona Milk Bath is a skin-softening milk that smells amazing and is perfect for adding a little something extra to your usual bathtime routine.

This product is perfect for anyone who enjoy baths, or who could use some softer skin. This milk is said to be Aphrodisiac-infused so it can also be used to be a sensual bath experience for partners.

I have sensitive skin and this milk left me with nothing but soft skin, but as always be sure to read the label and check for ingredients you may have allergies to.

Ingredients: Dry Milk Powder, Magnesium Sulfate (Epsom Salt), Hydrolyzed Collagen (for smooth skin benefits), Euterpe Oleracea (Acai) Fruit Powder, Fragrance

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

When the milk is in the tub, it is a very light powder - just like dry milk powders are. It's lightweight and clumps together slightly. It feels soft and smooth when you touch it or rub it between the pads of your fingers.

I did not pour this powder into my tub, rather I used a teaspoon to scoop it under the water so as not to get any of the other product wet. It does NOT come with a scoop, however.

When poured under the warm running bathwater it quickly absorbs and leaves the water feeling silky and soft. With three teaspoons, the water was a light milky (white) hue, but it wasn't opaque. I was able to still see my body beneath the water. When more product is used, the more opaque it becomes. If you have used any milk bath products before, it feels just like a good quality one. It does not clump to skin of leave behind a powdery film.

It also does not leave a powdery film in the tub. No need to rinse out your tub as no color or residue is left behind once you let the water out. The milk bath absorbs very nicely into the water.

Taste / Aroma

Dona Bath Milk is available in 5 unique scents: Camu Camu, Goji Berry, Acai, Pomegranate, and Blue Lotus.(I'm hoping they get it in Mangosteen eventually...)

Camu Camu is the healing blend that is meant to rejuvinate.
Goji Berry is the a berry scent that is meant to energize.
Acai is the superfruit scent.
Pomegranate is the fruity scent meant to pamper the body and senses.
Blue Lotus is a fresh floral scent.

Oh my! I ordered the Acai scent since I was familiar with the fruityness that typically comes with beauty products containing that ingredient or mimicking the scent. It smells amazing!

When you first take the lid off, the sweet fruity scent immediately wafts into your nose. It is not overwhelming, but it is strong as it is concentrated. It actually smells just like my smoothie fruit powders that I buy from the health store, only stronger.

It's hard to define just what scent Acai is, especially if you aren't familiar with it. Acai is a berry. And the scent would best described as a fresh, ripe berry scent. It smells natural and delicious! It actually smells A LOT like Bath and Body Works Pomegranate scent. Go figure.

The scent lingers on your skin for a couple hours. My boyfriend thought he could smell it when I walked past or when he was close to me. I could smell it when I sniffed my skin. It still smelled pleasant and fruity. I would imagine if you followed up with the Dona body lotion after the bath you would have a more lasting effect.

This product is not meant for consumption even though it smells good enough to eat.

Performance

I like my baths piping hot so I can soak for a good amount of time. I scooped three teaspoons of powder under my faucet after the water had risen halfway into the tub. I could smell the sweet berry scent during the entire duration of my 30-minute bath. The entire time my water remained milky, creamy, and soft. The more powder that is added to the water, the milkier you bath water will turn. I thought that three small teaspoons were plenty to get the skin-softening effects, but I might give a little more a go next time just for fun. (At that price point, it won't be so devastating!)

When you step out of the bath, there is no powdery residue left behind so there's no need to rinse off or wash off the milk bath. It absorbs nicely into the skin and leaves you feeling like you can skip the lotion.

As for the Aphrodisiac infusion, I feel as I always do. I never feel the effects of any Aphrodisiacs and this product was no exception. I would not buy this product if it were merely for that quality.

If you stick to the thre teaspoons like I most likely will, this jar should last you quite a while. They really give you a generous amount and my first few scoops did not make a dent as the powder is packed in pretty well.

Packaging

The Dona Milk Bath comes in a generous 8 ounce tub. It closes with a black plastic lid. It comes with a purple safety seal stretching from the top of the lid down the tub. The tub itself is clear and you can see the milky powder underneath. The front of the label features a lace print background, colors varying by the scent you chose. The Acai has a reddish brown background with black lace overlay. The writing in bold and white. The front reads DONA by JO an aphrodisiac infused ritual.

The right side of the label displays the scent the reads Bath Milk underneath in several different languages. Next to that is says "Discover Cleopatra's secret followed by the directions for use and the ingredients.

The left side of the label displays the All-Natural, Paraben Free, Preto and Deriv Free, and Cruelty Free logos along with the System JO information.

The is a large tub but I think it would be suitable for travel, although I would make sure it was closed tightly and perhaps stick it in a bag for added security. The packaging is very discreet with exception of the word Aphrodisiac in small letting on the back of the label. It would make a nice gift for a friend or partner assuming their not going to freak out over the use of that word.
    • Discreet looking packaging

Experience

I love bath products - they lure me in every time. But sometimes I regret falling for the good advertising or a good price. I was so excited this bath milk was an exception. The scent was alluring and fruity. It enhanced my bath experience - body and senses! Not to mention it did just what it said it would - soften my skin! I will surely be grabbing more of this in the other scents.
