Lock In Some Protection

With a list of almost natural ingredients, Coochy Protection Spray goes on as nice as water, but leaves behind a nice barrier that helps to protect you from irritation. It will leave you smoother and softer for a little bit longer than using nothing at all.

Use

Coochy protection should be used for, you guessed it, protecting your coochy! Designed (and actually able) to spray from any angle, even upside down, you can be sure that you can cover everything without having to contort to some really awkward angles to do it. It will also help to keep you from developing rashes or ingrown hairs as well.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

It's really hard for me to try and pinpoint any kind of texture here. There really isn't much of one. It sprays on just like water, but dries with a little bit of a "film" for lack of a better word. It's not a bad thing by any means, but the skin does feel slightly different after spraying it on and drying. There's no oily or greasy feelings when it sprays on, and it rubs into the skin very easily.

Taste / Aroma

I can't really pinpoint a scent either. I can definitely detect a hint of something minty. It's really subtle, but some might still be a little put off by it. The scent doesn't really seem to last very long either, seeming to disappear shortly after being rubbed in and drying. I haven't personally tasted it, but my husband has, and he said he couldn't really taste anything, and this was a whopping 15 minutes after application.

Performance

Coochy Protection performs admirably. It goes on just like water, and dries leaving something behind to protect you somehow. I haven't quite figured out exactly how it works yet, but it is rather intriguing. After shaving, I'll spray it on and it does seem to leave me feeling smoother for longer, increasing the time it takes for stubble to come back with a vengeance. I've had less luck with preventing ingrown hairs, but I think that's because I didn't wait long enough to shave each time that happened. I haven't experienced any rashes or anything like that, and normally I don't experience any stinging either. If I shave too soon and bleed a little bit, I find that the spray seems to sting a bit. If there was no bleeding involved, no sting.

Packaging

The packaging is decently nice. It does say "Coochy After Shave Protection Mist," but shouldn't really stand out unless it's sitting out on its own. One part of the label has all the spiels about how awesome it is and how you can spray it in any direction, and there's a small section for ingredients too. Well, maybe it's not that small, but here they are anyway: water, glycerin, butylene glycol, polysorbate 20, lavendula angustifolia (lavender) flower/leave/stem extract, cucumis sativus (cucumber) fruit extract, camellia sinensis leaf extract, chamomilla recutita (matricaria) flower extract, flycyrrhiza glarbal (licorice) root extract, echinacea agustifolia extract, triticum vulgare (wheat) germ extract, rubus idaeus (raspberry) fruit extract, epilobium angustifolium flower/leaf/stem extract, lilium candidum bulb extract, salvia fficinalis (sage) leaf extract, trifolium pratense (clover) flower extract, avena sativa (oat) kernel extract, dipotassium glycyrrhizate, lavandula angustifolia (lavender) oil, benzyl alcohol, polyquaternium-10, potassium sorbstat, disodium edta. As a note, glycerin can cause irritation in some women, so if you have sensitivities to glycerin, you should avoid this.

The bottle is good for travel because the pump top doesn't seem to leak at all, and even comes with a nice little plastic cap to keep the pump sprayer from getting pressed accidentally.

Experience

I don't normally have many problems with razor burn, rashes, or ingrown hairs after shaving. Well, the ingrown hairs have been happening a little more as of late, but I think they happen more when I shave too soon. I figured I'd give this a shot, because what was the worst that would happen? Nothing really? I was ok with that risk.

I had read other reviews that mentioned a lot of stinging, so I was a little nervous the first time I used it, but it never stung unless I had a little bit of bleeding after shaving. It really does seem to make me smoother for longer, which was really awesome. I can't shave every single day, but if I did shave too soon, I've found that this at the very least doesn't make things any worse. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it, and have recommended it to a few friends.
Follow-up commentary
I do still like this stuff, even though it does seem relatively hit or miss for me. Sometimes it keeps me feeling smoother longer and keeps me from getting itchy as the hair grows back in. Sometimes it doesn't do anything, or at least it seems like it doesn't. I find that if I shave using something (almost any kind of shaving cream) I get the best results paired with this.

Great review! Thanks! But it does seem a bit much for me to pay for a bottle that size. Hopefully it goes on sale at some point!

For the size of the bottle, I don't think the price is all that bad really.
