Little Purple Dumbbell
As far as experience goes, the Hestia wasn't bad, it just wasn't good. There are cheaper toys that use fewer batteries that yield stronger vibrations. I would pass this one by.

Pros
Dual ended
Great in concept
Great in concept
Cons
Weak, not waterproof
To me, the Hestia's vibrations were weak: they made quite a bit of noise for the amount of power that they had. You'd think that a toy that uses 3 AAA batteries would pack a little more power, but because the toy has dual motors in separate ends, the power is divided in half. Maybe if the user could switch off whichever side they weren't using, the Hestia could be stronger. I wish the toy was more powerful because having two separate vibrating ends with differing sizes felt like a good concept.
The toy's literature says, "You can use the Hestia in and around the vaginal area," but goes on to say that the on/off switch is not insertable. I would take that statement a bit farther and say that the seam for the battery pack is not insertable. This leaves only ~2 inches of insertable length on each end.
Because the toy is plastic, you can use whatever lube you'd like with it.
Cleanup can be easy, but only if you don't insert the toy too far. If you inserted the toy more than 2 inches during play, which is really easy to do, cleanup gets a lot harder and, well, ickier. The lock for the battery compartment grabs and traps wetness. So if you've inserted it more than 2 inches, that means it grabs both lube and natural lubrication - which makes for a messy toy, a possible short-circuit and a not so fun cleanup. Since the toy is not waterproof, care should be taken not to let water reach the battery compartment or the on/off switch.
Since both ends vibrate, you tend to get that 'itchy hand' feeling whenever you hold it. No matter which end I used, it always felt like the other end was stronger.
The large, dumbbell shape make the toy easy to hold. Since the toy is all plastic it can get a little slippery when all lubed up.
Note: the Hestia I received was purple, and came in different packaging than is shown of EFs page. Although the properties page says the toy comes with a little bag for storage, I think that was only with the older packaging, as mine did not.

Experience
When I tried the vibrator during solo use, it was a nice warm up. It didn't take long, however, until I wanted something more. When SO and I moved on to sex, I used the toy for clitoral stimulation. In that situation the toy did an ok job. It did help push me over the edge, but the size of the toy, coupled with its slickness, made it a little unwieldy in this situation.

Thank you for viewing Dr. Laura Berman Hestia – vibrating wand review page!
If it just had some more juice, or different functions, or something, it'd be so much better.
