Keep them clean to keep them keen
Although the System JO Toy Cleaner may not appear to do much more than regular soap and water, I feel more confident about the cleanliness of my toys now that I'm using something that's specifically designed for cleaning them. The light scent makes this seem clean even before you apply it to your toys, just make sure you rinse them well afterwards.

Pros
Anti-Bacterial, compatible with almost all toys, fresh & subtle scent (despite being 'unscented')
Cons
Not totally unscented
I have tried several different toy cleaners over the years. Depending on the toy, sometimes a little soap and water is enough to do the trick when it comes to cleaning, but there are other times (and other toys) that either can't be cleaned with soap or just require something a little different. Stepping up to the plate is System JO Antibacterial Toy Cleaner.
This cleaner is labelled as being unscented but it's not really. I can't complain though, since the scent is very light and pleasant and reminds me of a subtle, barely-there laundry detergent. It's the kind of scent you can imagine on your bedclothes on a summer's morning. Although it's subtle, it IS there, so despite the word 'unscented' on the label it might be something to bear in mind. Having said that, I haven't found many products that really are unscented when they say they are.
The container holds 7oz, and if it's angled properly then at first glance could maybe pass for a can of hair mousse. However, when you pay attention to the labelling then it's obvious what it's for, especially since the second largest lettering on the label says "Toy Cleaner" in red lettering. The size and shape of the can isn't the only thing this has in common with hair products though - the pump dispenser and cap also look like something straight off of your hairdresser's shelves. I'm a fan of that though, since it makes it easier to dispense the cleaner one-handed.
The ingredients are listed as Triclosan, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Sodium Trideceth Sulfate, Propylen Glycol, Citric Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Purified Water. Not exactly Body Shop material, but they do their trick, and despite reading other reviews suggesting that this might cause irritation, I've yet to experience any myself.
When you press on the pump, the cleaner comes out as a fairly thin foam. It's slightly watery but not quite runny enough to drip straight from your toy or your fingers. It will easily get into all the nooks and crannies of your toy and rinses off afterwards very easily. Once you've rinsed it then there's even less scent left over, although I did feel as though my toys smelled clean. Perhaps that was just psychological?
The label also states the following by way of bullet points:
* Anti-Bacterial
* Gentle Cleanser
* Non-Greasy, Alcohol-Free
* Latex, Rubber and Silicone-Friendly
* Non-Irritating
* Petro-chemicals Free, Paraben Free, Glycerin Free
Overall there may not be too much difference between this and some soaps, but I'm happy to keep using it since I know it's made specifically for cleaning my sex toys. I've found that a single can has lasted me around 5 months now, using it twice a week.
