After the first use of this product I fell in love. Finally, a Kegel Exerciser that is comfortable to wear and stays put! I would have liked to feel the balls moving a bit more, but I much preferred the Joyballs Single to my SmartBalls. Until today, that is. After only 4 uses, there is now a tear in the silicone where the string attaches to the ball. This is a total bummer.

Pros
Single ball will fit anyone, comfortable, body-safe, easy to use, quiet
Cons
Silicone on string tore where it attaches to the ball, not much movement of inner ball, lint magnet
Vaginal balls are great toys for women to use because they're a fun way to strengthen pelvic floor muscles. Weakness down there can lead to all sorts of unpleasant problems, so it's important to keep up those Kegel exercises. The Joyballs Single is small, discreet, and easy to use, so it's ideal for beginners. Since it's a just a single ball, it will likely fit anyone.
Once inserted into the vagina, the user can keep it there as long as desired, even while doing other things, and consciously squeeze around it. It's not just for Kegel workouts, though. I quite like how it feels when used in conjunction with a clitoral vibe.
The Joyballs Single is made from medical grade silicone. I could not detect a smell or taste. It feels just like the silicone on the We-Vibe II, which is soft and smooth but has quite a bit of surface drag and tends to attract lint and pet hair. The silicone only covers half of the retrieval string, which looks like it's maybe nylon, but I'm not sure. The ball underneath is very firm.
Like most vaginal balls, the Joyballs Single is a hollow ball with a smaller ball loose inside. The idea is that as a woman moves, the internal ball will jiggle and rattle around inside the hollow ball, creating vaginal stimulation. Also, the act of keeping the ball in place massages and exercises the PC muscle, keeping the pelvic floor strong.
I have only ever used SmartBalls, and the Joyballs Single is quite a bit different. It's only the one ball, for starters. This for me was a vast improvement. Truth be told, I sometimes have difficulty keeping my SmartBalls in when I try walking around with them. I figured my pelvic floor was really weak, which was my fault for not being more diligent about doing my Kegel exercises. However, I had no trouble keeping this ball in, so I'm now thinking a single ball is a better fit for me. The ball is smaller and more spherical than the Smartballs, and I didn't feel nearly as much internal ball movement with the Joyballs Single as I do with my SmartBalls, but that may be because there's just the one ball instead of two.
I'd say this would work really well for anyone new to using Kegel exerciser toys or those who have difficulty using two balls. It's also very discreet, and would be super easy to travel with.
I loved it until it broke. Some stronger internal sensations would have been an improvement, but this was very comfortable to use, and I was thrilled to have something I could keep in place. Unfortunately, when I was cleaning it after only the fourth time I used it, I noticed a rip in the silicone. Where the string attaches to the ball tore, which was very disappointing. Click here to see picture.
Cleaning is super easy. Just wash with soap and water for day-to-day cleaning or boil to sterilize. It is a lint magnet, so be sure to keep it in its storage pouch. Since this toy is silicone, only use water-based lubes.
The Joyballs Single comes in a shiny silver box, with the product clearly visible through a front window opening. In addition to the plastic insert housing the toy, inside the box is a handy little storage pouch, a small sample of Aqua Glide lube, detailed user instructions (printed in many languages), and a company product brochure. Since the ball has its own satiny pouch, there's no need to use the packaging for storage. The box, and perhaps plastic insert as well, can be recycled.
I very nearly titled my review "Tug Will Tear Us Apart" because simply pulling the ball out of the place it was designed to go should not rip the silicone.
Also, I know this doesn't have a motor, but it does make noise. When inserted, it's not really audible, but you can certainly hear the internal ball rattling around if you shake it.
I was most disappointed when the silicone ripped after only the fourth use. I did not abuse or misuse my Joyballs Single in any way, and medical grade silicone should last longer than 4 days. Apart from that, I really liked it. I was going to give it 4 stars because I don't feel the inner ball moving around that much, but now I'm only giving it 2. I sincerely hope my experience is a fluke, and I'm now curious to know if any other uses have had similar issues.
Follow-up commentaryI still don't like it2 months after original review
Well, what can I say? It tore after only a few uses, so I threw it out. I contacted the manufacturer to let them know about the issue, and I wasn't really satisfied with their response, so I'm overall not very impressed with the company. It's a shame, really because otherwise this Kegel toy had potential.

Oh wow, that's crazy that it tore like that! I think they would have been better off using a fully silicone loop like the Teneo Uno and Duo have.
Selective Sensualist
Is it completely non-usable since the silicone separated from the string? (I.e., is it uncomfortable?)
Thanks for the review!

Alicia, I totally agree! It struck me as odd that only part of the string is covered with the silicone, then I wondered why they didn't just make the string out of silicone.
Selective Sensualist, I haven't used it since it ripped. I'm concerned that will tear it even more, and I really don't want it coming apart inside of me.
Thank you for the comments everyone!

Whoa, that mst have been frustrating. Maybe the teneo uno would be a better option for you. Great review.

Thanks! I'm definitely going to try another single ball. I was thinking about the Teneo Uno, and the Emigi looks pretty cool too.
Kynky Kytty
The Emigi is really nice and sooo comfortable, but I'm also curious about the Teneo Uno, since the vibrations must be better felt than with the Emigi. Thanks for the review.
