iStimmed the shit outta myself with this sucker
If you're a sexual pleasure seeker and orgasmically ambitious, then a toy like this will be right up your alley. If you have no patience or curiosity, or if you have a heart condition, stay away.

Pros
Very pleasurable, intense, different way of experiencing pleasure
Cons
expensive, potentially dangerous, hard to figure out
The Nexus iStim electrosex unit is a compact yet relatively powerful estim device that is used sending electrical pulses through your body in s strategic manner so as to enhance your sexual experience, be it alone or with others. This product is my first foray into the world of electrosex, and it isn't likely to be my last. While I have found the learning curve to be steeper than with many other toys and devices, the effects are completely unique and quite powerful, and from what I can gather from reading Estim forums around the internet, this unit is only the tip of the iceberg as far as what you can do with them.
The Nexus iStim device comes equipped with two sets of electrical pads (each set has two pads) and attachments that are designed to fit on the perineum tab of all Nexus prostate massager devices. I already owned the Nexus Excel, and being a big fan of this toy I figured that it would be fun to pair it up with the iStim. My assumption was correct, and I've found that whether I use the Excel with the iStim or not, I have been able to augment my orgasms so that they feel very different to what I've experienced before, and I consider this a great thing since the reason we are all here seeking out sex toys is find something new and exciting to make things interesting. The idea behind using estim (or using TENS units as they're called) is that you close a DC circuit between two pads (one + and one -) and that depending on where you place those pads in proximity to one another the sensation you feel will vary quite a bit as the current is trying to close the circuit by jumping from one pad to the other. Keeping this in mind, you can start to come up with ideas about where you might want to put the pads. Putting one pad on the taint and the other at the tip of the penis will send pulses right down the penis, and it feels quite amazing. One of my favorite placements is one pad on my taint (or I'll use the Nexus attachment for the Excel which touches the taint) and the other on my abdomen right above the base of my penis, and that sends pulses across my Pspot and allows me to masturbate at the same time. Since there are two outputs on the device, you can set up two separate pathways to send the pulses, and the possibilities can get interesting. Just remember, and this is very important, DO NOT USE THIS ABOVE THE WAIST! Not following this advice can actually lead to death...yes death, so be warned that you need to use caution and common sense when playing with any TENS unit, even this small on that is powered by a measly 9v battery. I have mistakenly touched a pad with my finger during a session and I can tell you that it sends a jolt through your body and raises your heart rate, so be warned (IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTION ABOUT YOUR HEART OR A DIAGNOSED HEART CONDITION DO-NOT-USE-THIS-PRODUCT). I don't want to discourage anyone from trying this avenue of pleasure out, and I suppose being careful about using a TENS device in the regard could be likened to not putting a stainless toy in the freezer and then attempting to insert it; that too could be very dangerous!
The iStim has two outputs that you can independently control the amount of power coming from each one. There are also three other controls that you modulate by using the up/down buttons on the unit face. There is a corresponding readout for whatever you dial in. I wish I could explain what the "width" "amp" and "time" do, but to be honest, I've just messed around until I find something that feels good and I go with it. Sadly, documentation is scant as far as what comes with the device, and I haven't had the time to peruse the TENS forums at any length. Over in that part of the internet, the iStim is poo-pooed as being overpriced and not all that interesting, as well as just being a rebadged version of an identical unit sold by another company that markets the unit as an healing device. I think the critiques are partly true, as I know you can get a much more capable unit for what an iStim sells for, but I will say that I've had quite a lot of fun using it so far, and if this is the unit that has me exploring this realm of sexual pleasure, then I would say that Nexus has done a good job here. (contd...)

Experience
(...) The iStim comes in a handy carrying case that makes storing the unit very easy. There is enough space in the case to store extra items such as additional attachments and electrically conductive gel. Unfortunately the electro pads get grimy and gross after a few uses, even if you're careful, so replacing them is part of the game. You can get there here on EF, at most B&M shops and also very inexpensively on Ebay. Aside from that, there really isn't any cleanup on the device itself to worry about.
The one thing I would like to add here is that it's important to use some kind of electrically conductive gel so that the electric pulses will spread properly and feel good. If you use the pads bare, you will experience hot spots, which are really unpleasant and distracting. The first time I used the device, along with my girlfriend, we didn't have any gel, and we just hooked into the iStim and we were both a little confused as to how anyone would find it fun to use. Being the self pleasure king of the household though, I've learned that a little patience is well worth it, and I've been rewarded with a bunch of orgasms that have had me doing my Lenny from Of Mice and Men while simultaneously making gross smelly mess of the bed... The other thing that I should add is that the placement of the pads can lead to some really interesting results. I've a set of pads on my inner thighs, thus sending pulses across my groin, and I've put them on my ankles, sending pulses up to my dick. That amounts to A LOT of area covered as far as sensation is concerned, and that is really what something like this brings to the table: the ability to direct pleasurable pulses throughout your erogenous zones.
