Orange/lemongrass Massage Oil: The massage oil comes inside of a small plastic bottle with a black flip/top cap. The bottle has a paper sticker label. The top of the bottle was sealed with a small piece of paper that you have to peel and remove. The thing I like the best is that you can easily flick the lid open and closed with one hand which is a huge plus when giving massages.
Ingredients: orange oil, lemongrass oil, lemon oil, almond oil, olive oil, sesame oil, wheatgerm oil, juniperberry oil, peanut oil, rice bran oil, sunflower oil, cotton seed oil, grape seed oil, jojoba oil, apricot oil, carrotseed oil.
As I said above, the massage oil works really well and smells pretty good! It leaves your skin soft and it absorbs well, but I personally can't stand the slightly greasy feeling that lingers long afterwards. It reminds me of Shunga massage oil. The scent is a little weird to me but it's pleasant and I like that it has natural ingredients. I give it a 4/5.
Black Star Massager: This is my favorite part of the whole kit! It's the main reason why I wanted to review this kit in the first place. The massager is made of a durable hard black plastic. It has five round contact points and the shape reminds me of a starfish. The massager has a curve to it and it fits comfortably in the palm of my hand. I absolutely love it and think it's awesome! I gave my boyfriend a massage by gliding the massager in small circles on his back over his shirt and he loved it. I like that you can use it with or without a shirt so you can use it any time you want. If you want a longer and more sensual massage you can add the massage oil to the contact points and glide it over bare skin.
From tip to tip (across) it measures about 6". It's actually bigger than I expected but it fits into my palm perfectly and it's easy to hold. There are some visible seams along the edges that can obviously be felt but I don't think it should be a problem when giving massages. To clean, wash it with warm water and soap and then let it air dry. I love this massager but I don't like the seams so I give it a 4/5.
Mood Candles: The mood candles are plain, unscented, typical white tealights. They come in a cute little cardboard box that looks pretty nice. (Romance Bougies! That's fun to say.) The candles are inside of plastic holders so it's really important to keep your eye on these candles at all times. I highly recommend using them inside of glass tealight holders and completely taking the plastic off. Something about hot candles and little plastic holders just doesn't sit well with me, especially because I live in a house with an adventurous cat! I plan on using these tealight in my scented oil warmer. The dim glow from candlelight is so flattering and sexy. It's the icing on the cake to set a romantic mood, just be very careful with them! They're plain, kind of boring, and I dislike the plastic holders. Hey, they're tealights! Nothing special here but they get the job done. 3/5.
Black Eyemask: The black eye mask is definitely kind of cheap looking. I immediately noticed the loose threads hanging off of it and the cheap elastic bands. It's soft and fuzzy feeling and made of cotton. The edges seem to be sewn pretty well despite the loose threads hanging but they can easily be trimmed. The edge of the mask is trimmed nicely. The outside of the mask is smoother to the touch than the inside. It doesn't feel scratchy to me but if you're picky about these things and prefer really high quality stuff it might not work for you. If you're just looking for fun and aren't really concerned with how nice it is I'm sure it'll be fine. I also noticed that there's an extra bit of cloth down by the nose area to help block out more light. I put the mask on and looked up at the light on the ceiling to test it out. You can barely see light through it and definitely can't make out anything, even around the edges. The extra cloth at the bottom makes it look a little odd but I guess it's practical.
The elastic bands are adjustable and stretchy so you can size it to fit your head. I don't like that the bands are thin and doubled because they get stuck in my hair, I'd prefer just one wider band. It's hard for me to really measure how big of a head it could fit but I strongly feel that it will fit anybody due to the elastic. The mask is just ok, 3/5.

Rose Petals: Pitiful. These rose petals were absolutely pitiful! They were so cheap that when I examined the bag they came in the bag was just full of loose threads. I wasn't expecting much but wow, these petals aren't good at all. The ends are frayed, they leave little loose threads everywhere, and they just don't look good. Again, if you're not that picky (and I mean bare minumum standards!) you could use them to decorate with and spray them with a little fragrance. I personally found these to be so cheap that they were completely useless to me and very messy. I got a total of 143 petals in my bag which makes a nice big pile. They're useless to me so I give them a 1/5.
The bag of petals is obviously foreign and just doesn't match with everything else. There's a creepy little face on the label. I wasn't sure if I should laugh or just be disturbed! Eeep!
The individual petals are thin and frayed.
After counting out all the petals there were all these loose threads. There were even more left in the plastic bag!
Overall, I love the massage oil and the massager tool but everything else was cheap and boring to me. If you're giving this as a gift I'd highly recommend taking the cheap rose petals out of the box and replacing it with better ones. Maybe you can even slip a few more tiny surprises in the box. The performance of the massage oil and the massager tool were awesome! Those are the best items in the kit. This kit didn't exactly spark my passion but it definitely gave me a lot of romantic ideas and inspired me to give more massages!
