I felt like an Oompa-Loompa, but I smelled amazing!

Heady, rich dark chocolate is blended with sweet, unique berries to form an unbelievable blend of soft, smooth goodness for your skin, and then promptly turns you into an oompa-loompa, with it's bizarre gold tinge that dyes your skin until you wash it off. I'm not entirely sure the tinge to my skin is worth the happiness to my nose, but it at least makes for some soft elbows.

extremely useful review
I have postponed writing this review for nearly two weeks. I have been trying so hard to figure out how to explain the smell; it's freaking cocoa bean and goji berry. Okay, cocoa bean, that one's easy -- this has a very faint scent of dark chocolate, rich and heady. It's the goji berries that I can't place; it's not a scent I've ever smelled before. For me, this is the fruity version of patchouli, recognizable anywhere, but hard to explain. There's an earthy kick to it, while still remaining sweet.

When my package came in the mail, it was just the package in the box along with the rest of my order, so there was no packaging to tear into in my excitement. I sniffed the lotion, and immediately loved it. Some part of it reminded me of a fancy dessert; the other part reminded me of earthy goodness. I squirted some in the palm of my hand and...suddenly, I didn't love it so much anymore. It has a gold tint that would probably look amazing on a person with a much darker complexion, but on my fairly-white skin, it made me suddenly look like an oompa-loompa. I rubbed it in very well, and even 20 minutes later, though the scent was amazing, it still had a very ugly gold tint to it. I tasted it on my skin, to see how it would taste or feel, and there was surprisingly nothing. No bad taste, no good taste…. just no real taste at all. My skin isn't left oily or sticky, either. It acts like any regular lotion, provided that you're into that orange/gold/weirdness. Personally, I'm not.

Ingredients: aqua, stearic acid, glycerin, isopropyl palmitate, propylene glycol, glyceryl stearate, glyceryl stearate (and) PEG-100 stearate, aroma, dimethicone, olea europaea (olive) oil, treithnolamine, polysorbate 20, butyrospermum parkii (shea butter), acrylates/c10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, benzophenone 3, metylisothiazolinone (and) phenethyl alcohol (and) PPG-3-methyl ether, disodium EDTA, magnifera indica (mango) seed butter, BHT, cyclomethicone, tocopheryl acetate, water (and) alcohol (and) certified organic lycium barbarum (goji berry) fruit extract (and) certified organic cymbopogonchoenanthus (lemon grass) leaf/stem ectract (and) certified organic aloe barbadensis (aloe) leaf extract). May contain: Cl 42090/blue 1, cl 16035/red 40, cl 19140/yellow 5, cl 15985/yellow 6, cl 17200/red 33, cl 60730/ext. violet 2.

Alright, so the certified organic claims on the front of the bottle really should be "sorta organic", because while it does contain organic MATERIALS, it really is not completely organic at all.

Other than the very very bizarre color, this really is an amazing product. It's meant to be rubbed on after a shower while your skin is still damp. However, I found when I used it out of the shower and damp, that it was very hard to rub in and it left my body looking even blotchier than usual and even more unusually discolored. I'd love to hear how this worked on someone with darker skin.
Follow-up commentary
For a bit, I liked this. Sort of. But the way it stains my skin a gold color just became too much of an annoyance. I'd have to scrub this into my skin for 10 minutes, just to get the color to go away. I still strongly believe that this would look stunning on someone with a dark complexion, but that someone isn't me, and the gold doesn't work or me. I still use the sister product, foot foreplay, because I love the scent in this product. I just wish they had kept the shimmer more neutral.
