Hopping To a Different Island
There are bath products that you fall in love with and want to use every time you're in the shower, and there are those that you use once and then stick into a dark corner of the cabinet. Sadly, this fell into the latter category for me. The scrub itself isn't bad, but I was turned off by the scent so much that there's not much hope I'll ever like this.

Pros
Attractive packaging
Cons
Super strong, harsh scent.
I'll confess up front that this may not be the best review I ever write, but this poor body scrub has been sitting around for SIX MONTHS waiting to be reviewed (it was a buyout assignment) so I am desperate to mark it off my to-do list! As most reviewers know, it's easy to review a product that you love or hate, but those that fall in between can be a challenge!
This sugared body polish by Not Soap Radio claims right on the package to be "exfoliating, moisturizing, life-enriching." That's a lot to live up to! This definitely exfoliates, the moisturizing is a little iffy, and I'm yet to meet a bath product that has made my life richer.
Made for exfoliation, this body scrub is quite a bit grittier than most I have tried. Unlike the Venus body scrubs which are gel with scrubby particles, this is quite solid. The plus side to this is that you can water it down as much or as little as you like before scrubbing your body with it. The down side is it can be a little messy- getting a chunk the size you want out without dropping crumbles all over in the shower can be tricky. Despite being more gritty than most scrubs I've tried, I don't really get the feeling that this exfoliates any better than the more gentle varieties.
There are four scents available, and I chose "I'm not here, I'm really island hopping." Not Soap Radio makes a whole line of products in this scent, including foaming body wash and solid perfume. The scent is made up of coconut, lemongrass, vanilla, verbena, and musk, and as you can tell from the name is supposed to evoke memories of tropical vacations. This scent appealed to me because I've always liked Bath & Body Works's Coconut Lime Verbena scent. Sadly, I'm not a fan of this scent at all. It's incredibly strong- just removing the lid from the container is overpowering. Adding water only amps up the scent. Of course, if you love super-scented products you'll probably dig this aspect, but as someone sensitive to strong fragrance, I couldn't stand it. In addition to the strength of the scent, I just didn't like the scent itself. It's definitely citrus-y/lemony, but I don't pick up the coconut or vanilla at all. To me it smells like a slightly sweet lemon scented cleaning product. It doesn't make me think of islands or the tropics at all.
You do get quite a bit of this product, and as long as you aren't using a giant handful (and I can't imagine you would), this should last a long time. It comes in a plastic jar with a lid that's easy to screw on and off. The labels on the jar are colorful and cute, and there's a handy ingredient list printed on the side.
I can tell you that although I've had this sitting around for about 6 months (I've used it maybe 3 times in that period- I keep hoping I'll suddenly like it), it's still pretty much the same as when I got it. Since you have to combine it with water in the shower anyway, drying out isn't much of an issue.
This isn't a bad body scrub, and I would probably use it more often if it were unscented or had a more appealing scent. In terms of quality and pleasantness of use, though, I still prefer the scrubs by Venus.
