Her "Scentual" Pleasure
The Hers Candle is a light, vanilla scent that fills up small areas really nicely. It smells great in the area, and it's made me a believer in Illume candles. The packaging is great for gift-giving as well.

Pros
Great vanilla scent, Pretty packaging, Long burn time, Burns evenly
Cons
2-3 hours for best use, Scent only fills small area
The His and Hers candle is a single-candle that is intended to be burned for ambiance during sexual play. No, this is not intended to be used for candle massage oil. It's just intended to have a nice, sensual scent that improves your sexual experience with your partner. The candle can be bought in a "His" or "Hers" scent. The candle is 9.2 ounces which is supposed to have a 50 hour burn time. I own the "Hers" scent which is also called the "Affection" scent.
I have to admit that I'm impressed by the Illume candles. They provide packaging that is completely sex-free. I could give this to my mother-in-law, and while it's sensual packaging, it just looks like a luxury candle instead of looking like a "hump me" candle. The Illume Pearls series is the same way. This box is covered in a gray-pattern and is a sturdy box. There's no reason to keep the box, but it could be used as storage for the candle if you want. Just let the candle cool down before putting it in the box - please. The box lists the website which, surprisingly, has a lot of other pretty candles that EF doesn't carry.
We ended up purchasing this candle because I love candles. We leave them burning in our kitchen. I purchased the Illume Pearls candle and found that I loved it, so I chose to check out another Illume candle scent. Our last Pearls candle just finally ran out of burn time, so this one came just in time. I must admit that I'd rather burn massage-oil candles than use the massage-oil, but then I always feel like it's a waste of candle. This candle hasn't let me down.
The candle comes in a large glass container that says "hers" on the side. The candle is heavy and it fits into the palm of your hand, but it's a "barely". The candle is an off-white, cake-yellow type of color. It looks sensual. The instructions recommend burning this candle only for 2-3 hours for best use.
The scent is actually really, really pretty. It's a blend of Tahitian vanilla, spun sugar, and a hint of coconut cream. It smells sweet and sensual, but it's not sickeningly so. The vanilla is definitely the strongest scent of the candle, and it basically smells like a sweeter vanilla than your average vanilla. It reminds me of a sweet version of the Dark Vanilla Afterglow candle from Jimmyjane. It smells a bit like baked goods, and it really is a comforting, relaxing scent. Plus-side? It doesn't make me hungry like some other food-esque candles can.
The scent is really strong if you put yourself close to it or within about a half-hour of lighting, but it goes away slightly after it's been burning for about three or four hours. However, a half-hour is about perfect for sexual use. The candle can easily be smelled throughout my kitchen when the scent is going which is really nice. It doesn't make me feel hungry, but it does make me feel more sensual which is an odd sensation for my kitchen. Regardless, it's not coming out of the kitchen anytime soon. I really like the scent, and I know I'm going to repurchase this or the Illume Pearls candle after this one is finished burning.
The wax burns nice and evenly. We didn't have to trim down the wick on the Illume Pearls candle, and we haven't had any issues with this one either. It seems to burn nicely, give the scent off perfectly, and still look really sensual in the process. The flame gets a lot smaller after it's been burning for awhile (and sitting in a pile of liquid wax), but it starts up again really nicely.
Me? I think I'm an Illume candle lover. It's got the same quality of Jimmyjane candles except these aren't intended for massage, so I don't feel like I'm "wasting" them. The scent is delicious and perfect, and the packaging makes it perfect for a gift. It burns nicely, and the scent will nicely provide a scent to a small room.

We like these candles - still! We still have a couple left-over from the last time we bought them, and we use them pretty regularly. We both are much more fond of the "Hers" scent, and the candles do last quite a long time. With us burning them pretty-much all day, they'll last about two weeks, so they last a long time.

Thank you for viewing His and hers candle review page!
I have been burning my massage candles (without using them for massaging) and it does seem a waste.
Great review
If I could, I'd live by candle light and this would be a perfect addition. You made the vanilla sound so dreamy and delicious!
