Happy Birthday to me!
The Oil of Love Gift set is the perfect little sample pack for anyone wishing to try more than one flavor of this product. Or, you can even actually give it as a gift! Packaging is nice, bottles are presented beautifully and the mini corks are just adorable!

Pros
Tastes great, heats lightly when rubbed or blown upon, gorgeous bottles
Cons
Slightly sticky, cherry almond flavor is a bit medicinal
After my first experience with Kama Sutra Oil of Love I was pretty eager to try other flavors. I couldn't think of a better way to do so than to get the Oils Gift Set. It wasn't really my birthday or anything but, heck, I deserve the occasional gift to and from myself, right? Even if there is no occasion?
Right.
And so I got the set and it has pleased me as much as my first bottle of Love Oil did.
The set comes in a decorative heavy cardboard box, adorned with Indian inspired art. The base of the box contains a little stage with 5 holes cut into it that each hold a single bottle, to keep it from tipping over or moving around. The cover lifts off easily. I would absolutely have kept the box for storage but, unfortunately, a few of my bottles leaked a bit and it was pretty sticky and messy on the inside. Cardboard is hard to clean without ruining it so I sacrificed the box to the recycle bin.
Each bottle is tiny and definitely sample sized at .75 oz. Each bottle is glass with a miniature cork, filled with jewel colored liquid, subtly decorated with only the Kama Sutra logo and text indicating flavor. The corks are initially wrapped in a plastic seal - though, somehow, oil does manage to get past this as evidenced by my messy box - that is easily torn off when you're ready to use. The corks pop out without much effort and allow you to quickly and single handedly stopper the bottle back up between uses. They do leak a bit, even if you don't tip them. It's a very weird thing. Since I don't have the box I set these bottles out on my dresser and even if no one has touched them, I will occasionally find rings around the bottom where oil has leaked. I suppose from the cork itself absorbing oil, then it dripping down the side of the bottle. It doesn't really both me over much but it may piss some folks off a little. I will say, despite the initial leaking and the occasional leaking even now, it's not a substantial amount; probably less than a dropper-ful.
The Kama Sutra Oils Gift Set comes with five bottles, five flavors; the green Original (which is a vanilla, cinnamon and chocolate blend), orange Cherry Almond, reddish brown Chocolate Mint, pink Raspberry Kiss and yellow Vanilla Creme. Each flavor is fairly true to it's name though a bit more candy-like than not. The only one I really didn't like was the Cherry Almond, which is vaguely cough medicine-y. The one I liked best was the Original. It's flavor is subtle, a bit less sweet and very yummy.
Oil of Love is a glycerin based massage oil with no "actual" oil in it. Because of the glycerin, it warms lightly when rubbed or blown on (with a warm breath "hah", not a cool "woo"). It is quit slick, proving a bit of glide for hands over flesh, keeping them from dragging, but isn't going to perform like a true oil and last for a long time. I get five or ten minutes, max, depending on how much I apply.
Also unlike an oil based massage product, Oil of Love does get a little sticky and a shower after use is probably going to be wanted by most. It's not disgustingly tacky or anything but might irritate some. If you don't over use, don't dump on a huge puddle of the stuff, it sinks in pretty well with very little stickiness, similar to a glycerin lube.
The best thing about Oil of Love is the fact that it can be kissed and licked, the skin nibbled and nuzzled, and it truly tastes as good as it looks and smells and feels. It has no after taste, no bitterness, no perfume-y residue, just a candy goodness that makes teasing, sensual fun just that much easier and more tempting.
Now that I've tried nearly all the flavors available, I think I would stick to the larger bottles of the ones I know I love rather than the gift set but, if you're undecided? This is just about perfect, a great way to try them all.
Right.

Experience
Do be careful if you drop a bottle and chip the opening at all. Glass can get inside and you wouldn't want to rub chips into the skin! Store where they're unlikely to be knocked over and try not to handle with slick hands.
Also use caution if you choose to use this near the vaginal area. Glycerin can give some women problems with yeast infections. If you have issues with glycerin lubes, keep this away from the vagina.
If you want to use Honey Dust along with a massage, I'd suggest the regular Kama Sutra oils or the Body Souffle rather than the Oils of Love. These glycerin oils combined with the corn starch powder in the Honey Dust make for a bit of a mess!

Follow-up commentary
3 months after original review
I do, absolutely do, still like these oils though I will admit I ended up tossing out the chocolate mint and the cherry almond flavors. The non oil oils perform well, do what they are supposed to, taste good, feel good and are lovely to look at - I just didn't like those particular flavors.
This kit IS a fantastic way to experiment, find out if you like them and which flavors you'd like in a larger size, however. It also makes an amazing gift!

Thank you for viewing The collection - oils gift set review page!
also, total side note, when will companies learn that a nice pouch is infinitely more useful than a pretty cardboard box? for $30 ya think they could throw in some of those faux-satin drawstring pouches
