Hair Spa in a Box

The Terme Trio Hair Care set promises a lot but doesn't deliver it all or doesn't deliver it any better than products well below half the price. The conditioner is the shiner of the set, it alone is worth the price separately, but you aren't saving much in this set since the dry shampoo is half the price of the full and you only get a fourth of the product. I say get one of the items on sale first and then decide if the price is worth it for you.

Use

The Terme Trio Hair Care Set from Pincipessa Beauty is a hair spa in a box. This kit will cleanse and moisturize with the finest ingredients. It will leave your mane soft, silky, and feeling healthy - but at a pretty penny. This company is pretty awesome in that they use high-end quality ingredients and their packaging is environmentally conscious. This kits is considerably feminine in look and smell which won't be preferred by everyone, but who doesn't love luxury? That's what you get here. Presented in a gorgeous box, the Terme Trio Hair Care Set makes an excellent gift for a wife, girlfriend, sister, mother, or bride to be.

This set includes:

-12 fluid ounce Terme Tresses Shampoo
-12 fluid ounce Terme Tresses Conditioner
-1 ounce Bianco Breeze Dry Shampoo for Lighter Shades

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Shampoo: The shampoo is a thick opaque and pearlescent gel. It's smooth and not at all grainy, easy enough to squeeze out of the bottle. It isn't the easiest to smooth around because of its thickness. And adding to the problem is that it barely lathers at all!

Conditioner: The conditioner is very thick, much thicker than leading conditioners from Dove, Pantene, etc. I would compare it to Redken - maybe a little thicker. If you spread it around in your hands like a lotion it has a slight waxy feeling after it is spread around, but then it becomes very light and silky on the skin. It's easy to feel the great ingredients and high quality. It spreads easily in the hair and its effect is immediate.

Dry Shampoo: It feels and looks like baby powder. Breathe too heavily, it will go everywhere. The powder is hard to control since it has a tendency have a mind of its own. If you rub it between your fingers, it feels like regular corn starch and can make the same crunch sound corn starch does.

Taste / Aroma

All three items are scented with one of Principessa Beauty's signature scents, Isolina (little island in Italian). Their website describes it as having top notes of "violet leaves and mimosa blended with middle notes of rose petals and neroli. Heliotrope and precious woods round out this ultra feminine elixir that is best described as pureness in a bottle." It's not a scent for people who like subtle fragrances. It has a very strong odor of floral baby powder. It's doesn't smell bad, per say, but I'm still not a fan. It;s a bit much.

Performance

Shampoo: The shampoo says it is ultra-softening and formulated to replenish hair and restore health and shine. I have not found that it does that very well, it doesn't even make me feel very clean. I think this is due to its lack of lather. This also causes me to have to use a lot more shampoo than I normally would - about double! The fact that is doesn't lather well is a major failure of the shampoo. Because of this, I gave this product three stars.

Conditioner: This is my favorite product from the trio. Separately it is worth the money, not the kit as a whole. I'm not even a fan of conditioner. I don't like how it can sometimes make hair look and feel unclean when it's not or get dirty faster. I have really long hair that takes a whole day to dry sometimes. I usually have to use a lot of product. With this conditioner, I don't. The feel of the conditioner on my hair is lovely. Instantly I can feel that it is high quality and has the type of ingredients that will hydrates but not add an oily look in order to do so. The directions say to let the conditioner sit for 1-5 minutes before washing it out, but I didn't even need to do that. After my hair dries, the conditioner's effects can still be felt by adding strength and a little shine, but doesn't weigh it down. It gets five stars.

Dry Shampoo: Like the shampoo, I am not a fan of this product. It's probably my least favorite, although I will get more use out of it than the shampoo which I will avoid using. Dry shampoos are used when you want to remove oils from the hair and or don't have time for a full shower - or perhaps don't want to get your hair wet. For people with long hair, or even medium length hair, this stuff isn't easy to use all over and is best for de-shining the roots and crown of the head. For long hair, it's a nightmare to use all over. I opt to use it just for roots, which it does blend well. By the way, the one included in this kit is for lighter hues and there currently isn't an option to get it with darker hues. The powder is much better at being an all over deodorizer or smoother of the skin. Sprinkle it in areas that rub or chafe, even place it in the back of your heels to reduce rubbing and blisters.

Packaging

When you receive the trio, it comes in an unsealed pink cardboard box that resembles a small hat box. The top comes off and has a black ribbon on it. It should also have a small black bow, but mine popped off as I took it out of EF's mailing box. The front and back have small labels explaining the contents in minimal detail. Inside, the three products are surrounded by pink tissue paper.

The company explains their use of the pink coloring. They say pink is chosen because of its emotional character and representation of caring and sharing. They believe that affectionate and loving people prefer pink, being the most romantic color.

The bottles are 12 fluid ounce while the tin is 1 fluid ounce.

Experience

Overall, this kit's looks impressed me more than its performance. The conditioner is my favorite. I'd consider buying it again, but separately. The shampoos are not worth the money which makes the kit not worth the high price tag too. I am a bit of a snob when it comes to hair care, but not so much that you won't see me even use Suave or something or the sort.

$12 - Dry Shampoo (half the price of the full for less than a 1/4 of the product? -UGH!)
$26 - Shampoo
$26 - Conditioner
$64 - Set Total (individually)
$59 - Set Total (together)
$5 difference

So if you are dead set on trying both the shampoo and conditioner, it's worth it to buy the set since you'd only be saving 7 dollars. But since you are not getting the full size of the dry shampoo, I'd either buy separate for that, wait til Eden gets the small size (which is a rip off, though) or buy off their company site. I will be trying more products from this company, but won't be buying one of these kits when I'm done with it. Catch it on sale (like at the time of this review) and it's much more worth it.
Follow-up commentary
I am still using the conditioner and the dry shampoo. I rarely use the dry shampoo, however. I have not again used the shampoo, but I did have a friend who was staying over try it and she also hates it. We both prefer my regular shampoo. I still would buy this kit for a feminine friend. It's so pretty, and it's from Eden...
