Great Set * Value
This is a nice set, looks good, smells good but leaves something to be desired when it comes to the actual feel of the oil. It's a bit thicker and tackier than I would have liked and requires showering afterwards. Makes a nice set or home decoration too.

Pros
nice set, elegant, variety, makes a great gift
Cons
cost is a bit high, sticky/thick oil
With being together for three years now, my wife and I do massages pretty regularly. To be honest though, our use of massage "aids" has been limited. We ordered a few of the massage candles to start with and my wife wanted to save up for this set. This is a great set for anyone that is looking for gifts for others, wants to pamper themselves or just have something nice and elegant to place in their home.
The Afterglow Sampler set by JimmyJane comes with 6 "mini" massage candles. These are 1.7 ounces each. The packaging is really great. It comes in a flat, rectangular, white box with a deep pink ribbon laced through the bottom of the box and tied towards the top of it. When you open the box from the top (lid style box) you will notice 6 1.7 ounce candles setting inside of square slots inside the box to hold them in securely. There is a cardboard like "sheet" that explains the scents and "nicknames" of the candles that lays flat across the top of the candles. There is also a pamphlet that comes with the candles to explain about them and how to use them.
The scents included in this kit are: Bourbon / Cucumber water / Dark vanilla / Grapefruit / Pink Lotus / Truffle + gardenia
The bourbon (we thought) didn't smell anything like bourbon. It was a rather musky scent. The cucumber water is one of our favorites. It smells like true "cucumber" and a light, airy scent. The Dark Vanilla is a deep vanilla scent. Very strong. The Grapefruit, we didn't like at all. It smells tangy and somewhat bitter. The Pink Lotus was hard to put our finger on. We cannot really pinpoint how to describe that one. Last, but not least, the Truffle + Gardenia. This scent was rather nice, it was somewhere between thick and airy. Pleasant, but still cannot place a scent to this one either. It was nice though.
All 6 candle holders are made of a hard ceramic type material. They are great for decoration and are reusable. There is a small spout that sits on each of the candles in one corner. This is for easy pouring. If you are doing this yourself, to massage your hands/feet or other areas of the body, the pour spout makes it very simple to do.
Each candle comes with a small, saran wrap type plastic that covers and sticks across the top of the candle. This is great because you can gift these to others and they are still "sealed" so it looks brand new. If you choose to keep these candles for yourself, I suggest making sure to keep these covers for when you are not using the candles so that you can keep dust and hair out of the candles.
I felt that this candle oil was rather thick and somewhat sticky. It did not absorb into the skin very well or quickly. I definitely felt like I needed a shower afterwards.
How to use: Light the wick and allow the candle to burn for about 2-4 minutes for a good size pool of oil. Blow out the candle and pour the wax out through the spout corner. Massage. I would use a wash cloth to wipe down after you're done and take a shower.

Follow-up commentary

My wife and I love this candle set. If it didn't cost so much (but worth the price), we would probably get another set just because. The candles last quite a while. We haven't used even half of them yet and we've had this set for a few months now. Granted, we do not use them every day either. There are only a few scents that we really like, and those are almost gone now (cucumber water was our favorite). My wife is giving away the others. The holders are nice, too. I would say that this was worth time and effort trying out and worth the money spent.
