Shunga's Erotic Massage Oil Organica is excellent for its intended use, massage. In fact, it's the highest quality massage oil I've used since my husband and I started doing back rubs when we were still dating. Since it's organic, I'm pretty sure it's safe for everyone. I wouldn't recommend it for anything else, though, so keep it for foreplay and massage relaxation, not lubrication or oral use.

This particular massage oil excels because it's thin and spreadable enough that you don't really need a lot to cover your whole body. It glides a bit more than "natural" oils, which I tend to like better, but it's not a greasy kind of feeling. As for viscosity, it's a bit more slippery than Good Clean Love (though it absorbs faster), but thinner than Sensuous Oil. Both of those are some of my favorites, and this oil is right up there with them. The oil absorbs very nicely when rubbed in as well.

Everyone's senses are different, which of course makes it difficult to tell you how it will smell to you. For both me and my husband it smelled strongly of GRAPE at first! No green tea, no citrus, no lovely garden floral scent...it was all grape in the bottle, on me, and on my fiancé’s skin, too. It's weird, because usually massage oils smell slightly different on my skin or his. Still, it's smelled just like fresh grapes when you are canning grape juice or like the scent of a fresh concord grape when you bite into it.

Now that we've used it a few times, it's mellowed a little to include some floral scent mixed in. I don't know what's going on with that, but it's not a terrible or bothersome scent.

As far as strength goes, I think it's pretty strong as well. I'm not usually sensitive to smells, but this one can be overpowering if you use too much oil. My husband doesn't seem to mind it much. My solution is to use a small amount and reapply only if the friction builds up and makes it difficult to slide my hands on his skin.

I think the texture is the best feature of Shunga Organica Oil, though many folks would argue that the scent is the best part. Because of its ability to absorb so well, I don't think there's much clean-up needed. In fact, you could also use it as after-bath oil, and I'm sure it would make your skin feel great.

We've barely put a dent in this bottle, and we've used it about 8 or so times on each of us. Despite the stronger, mostly-grape scent, I think it's a wonderful bargain for how much oil you get.

The recyclable, plastic, bottle with a snap-top cap makes this oil very easy to dispense, though the snap-top lid sometimes makes it messy when you put the bottle back. I would NOT recommend putting the bottle anywhere on wood or somewhere you want to keep nice. I use a small plastic bin like you would use for collecting rubber bands or paperclips to keep all of our oils off the night table. Then I just wash the bin and the outside of the bottles occasionally to deal with this issue.

Also, given the size of the bottle and the image of a couple entwined on the label, I don't think this oil is good for travel, and it's not terribly discreet either. Keep this one at home, and get a smaller bottle of another oil for vacation (especially for carry-on luggage).
